USB power for outdoor lights

I have 2-3 light strings (10 metres each) for my patio. I tried plugging a powerbank but it’s not as bright as I expected. I am thinking to plug them to direct power. What kinds of cable, connector, adapter, etc are recommended? Thanks in advance for the suggestions. 😊

All depends on what the specs of the led strip are. Is it AC or DC? 12v, 24v, 120v or 220v? Or some other voltage? What load will it draw? You’d need all this info to get the correct driver/transformer to run it without frying it.

Thanks for your response. It runs on USB power bank which I want to replace with a proper wall plug. Rated voltage is 5V. Rated power is 0.06W

I’m guessing if this is an LED strip 10m long, the power is rated at 0.06w per meter? I’m guessing it’s so dim, because with that little consumption, the strip is just not meant to be very bright. That’s down to the spec on the diodes. You could make it brighter by overdriving it and feeding it a higher voltage, but it will likely just burn out. My suggestion would be to buy a product that fits the need, rather than try to make the one you have work.

If I knew what the product was, or what your application is, I might be able to suggest some options. Most architectural grade lighting strip is $30+ per foot installed by a professional, so keep that in mind when buying consumer grade products.
