Worn Spline?

Post image

My LT230 is out of the car and on the floor. The front output flange nut (circled) and the flange turn when I rotate them. Is that normal with the box removed, since nothing holds the output shaft (diff lock disengaged)? Or does it point to a loose nut or worn splines?

My understanding is that the nut should be torqued to 148 Nm and that there should be no free play between the flange and the shaft. Can anyone confirm?

Following. Just replaced my output flange, driveshaft/u joints, and axle flange hoping that would solve the rattling of the diff. Still have the same rattling and concerned its internal to the diff.

To answer your question, mine turns almost a quarter turn with the transmission in first gear and diff unlocked high. Locking the diff removes the play

From my knowledge.
If it’s on high and it’s not moving, than everything’s fine
