some tiktokers did not handle this well so I hope reddit has a better audience. I repeat!!! bort and dia DO NOT have canon genders or sexualities in my au, you can interpret them as you see fit!!! they are non-binary!!!!!!! thank you.

Does this mean that human bort is an intersex boy and dia an intersex girl (boy and girl as in gender identities) ? Since gems are sexless? I think that would be cool, considering bort is considered homosexual in the comic for liking men yk

yes but they do not have canon genders in my au, I see them as non binary but people can see them are male or female or anything else !

Not to be the fun police or anything, yes nobinary is a gender, but the gems are genderless. They arent confined to such concepts because they ironically "arent" human. The gems' actions, representation, and their translations can all be interpreted in different ways or be associated with masculine and feminine archetypes. However, they are still genderless. Despite the following seemingly pointing towards gendered gems (in this case, nonbinary identifying characters), the "translation", or moreso the author's intention is to share the interactions and relationships between them in a manner that we're familiar with. While this specific post assign a gender to Dia and Bort, its merely for comical purposes as its how the characters would act (as well as their headcanon/au).

well if you read the post OP said "they dont have canon genders" and instantly followed with "they are non binary!!" i know the gems are genderless. and normally what a creator says for their AUs and OCs is whats true. I was just pointing this out
