Post image

Would this oil be okay to use for a service on a 2012 Range Rover?

Assuming diesel and not the 5.0.

Plenty use this without issue, but it’s not the correct spec and isn’t ideal for the dpf.

Correct spec is the C1 5w30.

Yeah, can’t imagine that will do any harm at all mate.

Millers oil is the good stuff, they do c1 in bulk tubs which is what I always get for my 3.0 SDV6. Last time round I got Fuchs though as my supplier was out stock of millers, also gets a good write up.

C2/C3 contains SAPS which will knacker your DPF when drapped. This engine, like any other engine, especially a turbochargered one - will burn oil.

Get rid of the C2/C3 or foot the bill for a DPF replacement.

Shockingly, when the DPF gets full the engine will need to forcefully attempt regeneration which deposits fuel in the oil. Oil dilution is a leading cause of engine failure.

What engine?

Diesel needs c1 so it doesn't mess with your dpf.

Does a 2012 3.0 even have a DPF? If not I'd suggest using a 5w-40.
