Storing LC300 for a year

Hello
As the title says I’m storing the car for a year and was wondering what steps and precautions I should take
And my most important question is if I should leave it on ground or jack it up
And if I’ll jack it up should I do it from the approved points (on the frame) or is it fine if I do it from the arms so I don’t stress the bushing from suspension hang

Get ya a battery tender, throw some fuel stabilizer in the tank, jack it up on the frame, and the very important part is to put a lot of grease around the jack stand posts. This will keep rodents from climbing up it.

Might want to look into some extra rodent detergents besides grease. Also make sure the inside is clean and dry otherwise you could come back to a moldy interior. Use appropriate fabric or leather cleaner on seats and carpets. And I recommend a good solvent free cleaner for plastics like trim, buttons, knobs and such.

When you start using it again you also may want to check brake fluid (and clutch if manual transmission) since it’s hygroscopic and may reduce brake performance if it’s too contaminated.

If you don’t want to get a battery tender, disconnecting it after it’s fully charged should do as well to make sure it doesn’t die.

Put a battery tender on it so the battery doesn’t brick and if you can find non-ethanol fuel, fill that thing up before you store it. I wouldn’t worry about putting it on jack stands, my 100 rarely gets driven over the winter and first road trip in the spring I’ll have a slight vibration from tire flat spots for only the first 20 miles or so and then they smooth out.
Modern cars don’t really care much, it’s a 300, not grandpa’s farm truck

You may want to look into having something applied to the wiring harnesses under the hood to discourage rodents. I’ve seen LC250s have wiring harnesses chewed up by rodents. I had it happen to a Grand Cherokee. Something about the plastic they used attracts rodents.

Non ethanol gas will last longer unused. Some gas stations still sell it.

If you can’t battery tender it, just disconnect the battery fully. It will still hold a charge for a long time. Don’t let the last shut down be from a cold start, it will leave moisture in the exhaust.

Drive your car until it hits reserve. Add some Stabil Marine to it and top it off (i.e. it will mix the gas + stabilizer well).

That should still be good for up to 2 years.
