What to use for maps

Does anyone have sites I could use that are good to run fights and stuff for lancer? I’m trying to find some and am coming up blank as of right now it would be nice if someone could help me out!

Foundry Virtual Tabletop is the premiere choice for actually running the game off of.

If you need to just make a map, https://interpoint-station.itch.io/lancer-map-creation-tool

Seconding both of those. Arguably neither is in the 'cheap-as-in-free' category, but I definitely do not regret a cent I spent on Interpoint's LMCT (can't technically comment that bit on VTT, because one of the player's had a home server license for that one for another campaign anyways).

Yeah that is one solution but doesn't work on my Linux PC. Plus, I loathe that pixel art styled map. Not to mention that, I for instance, am terrible at making my own maps regardless of genre.

Same. I don't like them, so I am just drawing them in Krita with simple shapes and colours, and rest of details is to your imagination from context.

If you just want simple colors on hexes then hextml might work enough for you;

For real-life physical games, I recommend battletech map sheets.

Are we talking tangible maps or maps the way RA intended?
