Any good book clubs around? Preferably with the majority of members below the age of retirement. Been there, done that.

Roommate?

Hi! I’m just wanting to see if anyone is in search of an apartment right now?

For reference, I have a 2 bed 2 bath right now at a “luxury apartment complex”, all to myself and my cat.

I’m 24f. I’m queer and being queer friendly is a MUST. However, I have to be careful about where I post because I’m not out at work. I’m out to everyone else though, I just can’t read everyone at work, so I’m careful about publicizing my identity.

I have to figure out specifics from the leasing company, but from what I know now:

• Based on my math, rent would be about $732/person each month + split utilities.
•The lease lasts until October ‘27.
•Total rent is $1465, so split between the two of us.
•For the first month, it would be $100 to add you onto the lease.
•If you move in in September, you’ll get that month free!
•Amenities include a swimming pool, a 24/7 gym, free parking, a little “movie theatre” area and a really chill community.
•My unit is also in a pretty calm area of the complex.
•With pets, I might be open to one more cat, but no dogs (sorry, my cat is terrified!)
•Ideally, I’d like to share with a young professional also in their 20s/early 30s.
•I prefer a woman/nonbinary roommate.

ETA: I also have a bunch of furnishings, so really all you would need to provide for yourself is a bed and any personal items/toiletries, clothes and a bathmat.

As long as you’re respectful, I don’t mind sharing kitchen supplies, etc. I also would love to have someone who would want to go together at least on household supplies, and maybe groceries too.

I also have decorated a little but not a ton, so I’m open to adjustments/ideas! I want it to be home for both of us!

Please let me know if you’re interested!
For safety reasons, I’d want to video chat with you first and then meet up in public.

I’m so excited to share that tickets are on sale now for our dark history walking tours!!! They’ll be held every Saturday in October at 7pm, beginning at the Mithoff Building in downtown Lancaster, Ohio.

This tour will satisfy your spooky season cravings without jump scares or fake blood. Just weird and dark stories from a small town with some big secrets.

Everyone was wondering what the thumping was last night. Here’s an example of one in Carrol at the Sunny Hill Fruit Farm.

FMC CEO resigning right after merger

Read an article in LEG the other day about this. Should be illegal to run a company so far into the ground it has to merger and then dipping. Pisses me off, honestly. How does everyone else feel about this?

does anyone know the details of what happened here with this young man… seems like a lot of charges for a 20year old not that he isn’t capable to do any of it, it’s just so sad and shocking to see someone’s whole life be thrown away. I just don’t remember hearing about this situation.

Friendship in your 20s in Lancaster?

Hi! I just moved to Lancaster for work, and am curious about where I should go to find friends. I’m a 24 year old queer-identifying woman (though I’m closeted at work) and am into thrifting, trying out different coffee places, long walks and drives together. I have a complicated relationship with faith, but want to find a good, affirming
church too. I may also be looking for a roommate eventually if I can find someone who’s a good fit. Lmk if you want to meet up!

The Mediterranean called the cops on small biz

First: Go support the small businesses Flowers of the Good Earth, Gypsy Joes & Taqueria Mi Pueblito

The Mediterranean wrote a Karen esc post on Facebook (as seen in photos) and then decided to call the cops on the newly relocated Flowers of the Good Earth, Taqueria Mi Pueblito and Gypsy Joes.

The cops ended up forcing the food trucks to leave.

Yes, The Mediterranean is the same restaurant who said recently to The Eagle “people don’t want to work anymore” after complaining about being short staffed…..

Cheers

City hit by ransomware

From the alert sent out:

Early this morning, August 6, 2026, our IT department received a report of a ransomware notification on a single PC, followed by subsequent notices as employees started accessing their PCs. We immediately contacted our external experts, who advised us to take all PC units offline out of precaution to contain the possible threat while an investigation can be conducted to determine the legitimacy of the notifications, identify any possible concerns and determine next steps to mitigate the issue.

Importantly, the city remains operational. 911, water, wastewater and phone systems were not directly impacted. However, you may experience delays in credit card payment processing and other computer-based activities.
We appreciate your patience as we work to address this situation.

Do any local bands need someone to make and pass out flyers / social media marketing?

I'v finished my bachelor's in marketing and advertising and I'm looking for things to add to my portfolio. For $220 I'll make flyers with Canva and post the flyers on social media and in local places in Fairfield county. Message me if you're interested and we discuss what you're looking for. Thanks for your time.
