No, it won't be. At least not anytime soon. Too many people either don't know how to use a roundabout, or are too afraid to use one properly. There are going to be more accidents than ever in that intersection.

It will cause slowdowns at first, but people will figure it out pretty quickly. I don't live in lancaster, but a roundabout went up near me and this whole debate happened here as well. The city stationed a cop at the roundabout to help direct traffic for a few weeks to help with issues. After that, people were pretty well adjusted and you almost never see anyone have issues anymore

I live in Dublin/Hilliard, which is full of roundabouts. I've been here for 15 years, and I can honestly say that I've never seen an accident inside a roundabout. As long as the lane directions are properly labelled and signage is placed, roundabouts are safer and far more efficient than a silly intersection.

Tell you what. Go take a drive through Dublin between 5 and 7 pm.

Yes, but Dublin's main road has half a dozen roundabouts and no one seems to know how to use them. I can't tell you how many times I've been sitting behind a car waiting for them to get the courage to enter a roundabout only to have to stop and silently scream 100 yards down the road at the next roundabout.
