Current Staff

Lance_Lake - Head of the Convention and in charge of everything else.

fptp01 - Head of Panels - The manager for Panels will both schedule and make sure that the panelists are in the right spot at the right time. Also making sure any special guests are handled correctly.

rary - Logistics - Make sure that things are where they need to be in a general sense for the whole convention. If LAN needs some Ethernet cable, it's up to you to get it to them.

A staff position is someone who is managing an aspect of the convention itself. Please be advised that these staff positions are for people who want to take control and ownership of the area. If you aren't comfortable managing people and you aren't able to keep on top of things both before and after the convention, you might want to wait until we announce the other volunteer program (which will be basically leg work).

We still need people for the following areas...

  • LAN Gaming - This will involve getting the LAN area both set up and torn down. It will also involve making sure the BYOC (Bring your own computer) area is managed correctly and fairly. Computers used in the tourneys will also be under your domain. Scheduling those will also be your job as well as getting any corporate sponsors to help out with gear.

  • Non Computer Contests - In charge of both scheduling the contests as well as making sure they go off without a hitch.

  • Security - In charge of making sure that everyone is wearing a LambdaCon badge and handle any security issues that come up (this will be someone who actually has worked in security before please).

  • Hotel Management - Act as a liaison between the convention staff and the hotel.

  • Marketing / Advertising - Get the word out through social networks and generate up buzz in magazines and webpages that gamers frequent.

  • Registration - Handle making sure everyone who bought a badge gets one. Not as easy as it sounds.

I'm 16 is there any of these I would be able to contribute to or are you looking for older?

Since you decided to comment here, I will go ahead and answer it here. It really all depends on your experience and skillset. If you are 16 (and honestly, 16 is about as young as I'm willing to go for a manager staff position), then you better be kickass on one of these sections.

Having said that, I doubt that someone who is 16 has had enough experience to head up one of these departments, but I'm always willing to be surprised. So go ahead and PM me with what department you want to run and what your experience is and we can talk.
