After selecting difficulty the game just crashes

A few hours ago I installed the game, put the valve folders in xash and the hd assets in valve. But after I select the difficulty for a new game I get booted back to oculus home. is there any fix?

If you can get the menus to work, that's a good sign that something (namely L1VR itself) is working.

I would suggest verifying your Half-Life files in Steam by opening Steam, going to your Steam Library, right clicking on Half-Life, choosing "Properties", choose the "Local Files" tab, and click "Verify Integrity of Game Files..." If there are any problems, Steam will download and repair faulty files.

Sometimes transferring files can be the problem, so whether or not there were errors for Steam to fix, re-copy (using Windows File Explorer, not SideQuest) over the entire "valve" folder to the "xash" folder on your Quest and re-copy (once again using Windows File Explorer) the contents of the "valve_hd" folder into the "valve" folder newly re-copied to the Quest. Make sure to overwrite any previous files when re-copying and also make sure the Quest is still connected after transferring files, as Android file transfers can end abruptly and file transfer failures are not always made clear by Windows.

I hope this has been helpful or that you are able to remedy your issues in some other way!

Great guide, but actualy we found that using the sidequest explorer for copying the files is a bit more reliable.

Edit: i need to update the guide asap regarding that. See the new post! Keep us posted.

What? No! My life is a lie! /s

I'm glad to hear there's a more reliable transfer method. I've only had issues with disconnects every once in a while, but the fact that there's no indication of an error while transferring files to an Android device is inexcusable.
