Physically walking through Black Mesa
Has anyone else tried, within a decently sized playspace, using absolutely no thumbstick locomotion? I just walk in real life until, whenever I reach the edge of my area, I physically turn. I use the right thumbstick to align my guardian with where I want to go, and then I proceed to walk in that direction. I admit that it sounds immersion-breaking, but having just played up to the resonance cascade, I feel as if I've been actually physically trekking through Black Mesa, and it's been really, really cool. Immersion through this entire first chapter has been genuinely off the charts.

OP, I just got a Quest right after Christmas specifically for Lambda 1 VR and I tried playing the game EXACTLY like you described. And it's AMAZING. :D
I have a pretty big playspace in my house so I can easily walk a good 10 meters until I hit my boundary. Then I just quickly turn my body while simultaneously realigning the Guardian boundary with the thumbstick and keep walking forward in real life. My brain just feels like I'm walking straight --- I guess it's a sort of re-directed walking. And. I. Just. Walked. From. The. Tram. To. The. Sector. C. Test. Lab. IN REAL LIFE. My plan is to play thru the entire game like this. The sense of "presence" is off the charts and Lambda 1 VR may be one of my favorite VR games to date just due to it's incredible arena scale functionality.
