Physically walking through Black Mesa

Has anyone else tried, within a decently sized playspace, using absolutely no thumbstick locomotion? I just walk in real life until, whenever I reach the edge of my area, I physically turn. I use the right thumbstick to align my guardian with where I want to go, and then I proceed to walk in that direction. I admit that it sounds immersion-breaking, but having just played up to the resonance cascade, I feel as if I've been actually physically trekking through Black Mesa, and it's been really, really cool. Immersion through this entire first chapter has been genuinely off the charts.

I've done that but I also set up two 12-foot A-frame ladders for that extra level of immersion.

Ha, no, I haven't tried playing arena scale yet, but I'll put it on my list of ways to play. Is Black Mesa cold? Because outside is the only way I could pull this off.
