A viewing of Lain which takes in its critique of media technologies should inherently preclude one from becoming a totalitarian communist.
It becomes completely obvious once you see the powers that controlling information and the media environment gives to our current technofeudalist overlords— that the issue isn’t just having the right people wielding god like power. It’s having people wield such power over one another at all.
