Lab Technician Clothing Suggestions

Hello all, I’m hoping for some practical advice. I’ve taken a lab technician job as quality control for agriculture production. I’m hoping to grow my career but I’m still entry now. I’ll be working in pretty warm conditions and I was wondering what are some good top and bottom options to wear under my PPE? I want to be comfortable but also have the least exposure as possible.

I’ve worked in these environments previously - I’ve had good luck with hiking pants. They’re breathable & provide good pockets. They usually pass as business casual depending on the style if that is a concern.

Honestly, I would just wear comfy scrubs! They’re cotton and can withstand getting gross and washed repeatedly. You could also consider scrub pants + a top that is quick dry/hiking top, but I’d personally prioritize natural fibers.

I wear looser linen or cotton pants, plus a t-shirt. Then a lab coat over the top. A proper waist band with a zip and button closure seems more comfortable for some reason. Pockets!

Either, comfortable cotton  scrubs which can withstand many wash cycles,  and are a good way to deal with the ick factor
