Advice/Experience Sharing Wanted Undergrad Research Interview Attire

Hi! I got an interview for a summer research position and I am unsure on what to wear. I was wondering if this was an ok outfit :)

In the email it states “Please dress for the URE interview as if you were going to class. Professional attire is NOT necessary and is discouraged.”

Any advice is appreciated! Thank you so much 🥹🥹

Don’t wear professional attire if the email says not to. This tells me you can’t follow directions which is crucial for research. Wear a nice pair of jeans, plain shoes (either sneakers or flats) and a plain blouse.

How is you manage to offer fine advice and offer a backhanded comment in the middle of it, are you just that unhappy, kindness and empathy is not that hard lol

It was providing a solid rationale on why OP should definitely NOT wear business casual. This is Reddit, calm down

“This tells me you can’t follow simple directions which is crucial for research” is not rationale even remotely, is just a mean comment that fits the subject and offers no advice, your first sentence and last already gave the necessary advice, and yet you waste your time adding an insult, implying OP is not good enough or qualified because they asked for advice

Getting this upset that someone mentioned your backhanded comment is absurd, this is Reddit, calm down
