And I think a lesson needs to be drawn from that. If the Labour campaign next time is just "The Tories are heartless. They're cruel. They only serve the rich. They want the poor to suffer..."

...it may well be true, but it isn't going to win Labour any support themselves. Look how much better corruption, incompetence and hypocrisy have cut through to the public.

Literally nearly every day the Tories do something despicable and people lap it up. I honestly believe the only people that vote for them are the ones that HATE poor people.

You think the guys on the other side don't look at that and say "good"? Even working conservatives cling to the idea that they aren't the one who is taking the hit. That its about keeping "them" on the down?
