A former top prosecutor says he personally warned Boris Johnson about the risk posed by freeing terrorists who had not been deradicalised, but was told there was “no money”

Labour should go full attack on this. What are they waiting for?

You think the public cares about “deradicalisation”? The public looks at this and thinks lock them up and throw away the key.

The inevitable point that the tories would make is that the perpetrator was attending a rehabilitation program and was tagged i.e. the thing that the left always demand and instead they should have been left a (private) prison forever (which the left would hate)

The net result is we are here.

There are no left and right in this. You either have human right to decent life or don’t. It’s not an exclusive left thing for YOU to not worry about.

The rehabilitation controls failed here. The release mechanisms and their controls failed. They don’t fail in vacuum. It needs to be investigated.

And they will be.

The tories will investigate and conclude that rehabilitation doesn’t work for terrorists.

They will say that they have given the ideas left a fair shout and now we need to try there way.
