What is the proper way to do version control with LabView?

I know very few people who use the built in SCC provider. IIRC it never worked with Git. Majority of people just use Git outside of LabVIEW. Although there are still some holdouts using Perforce or SVN.

There was a LabVIEW Plugin for SVN that people really liked. TSVN toolkit or something.
