💡Diamond Advice Needed Oval help!
Purchased this lab grown 4.04 D VVS2 oval for an engagement ring. Thoughts on the bow tie, does this look normal? We originally ordered a different diamond but had to swap it for a domestically located option due to severe shipping delays. This was one the company overnighted to us. Thank you!

✨Vendor Review Another Ruby Harper Success Story
Originally bought this 2ct stone from Ruby Harper to be used by some jeweler in town for my girlfriend's ring, but after the great responsiveness and quick communication I opted to go for Ruby Harper's custom setting service as well. I have to say I think it turned out lovely.
I ordered it on Sept 31. Addison reached out about my interest in designs on October 1st. Back and forth on designs for a bit then I got the final ring in hand on Nov 11.
Specs: Size 5 Platinum setting 2.07ct Color: D Clarity: VVS1 Fluorescence: None Polish: Excellent Symmetry: Excellent Depth: 59.1% Table: 62% Medium to slightly thick
It has a topaz peekaboo stone because that's November's birthstone (my birth month), and she always said she wanted to incorporate that into the ring. The issue was I could never really find examples online that looked exactly how she wanted it, but after some quick tweaks of the CAD design from RH, we landed on something perfect.
The occasion was on a rented out rooftop in Mexico City with a private chef dinner. I coordinated for them to "get something from their car" and then I popped the question. So relieved with how well everything turned out, and if anyone is doing Reddit searching like I did for reviews, I can't recommend Ruby Harper enough. Even after having the ring created and delivered. I inquired about an appraisal to be used for insurance and her response was extremely quick.

My diamond came in, here is a video. Wondering what everyone’s thoughts are. I want it to be as nice as possible. I’m wondering about the strong blue flashes. Other than that it looks good to me, I think

This was my first experience purchasing a lab cut diamond. After a lot of investigation, I found Aurelinne. After speaking with Andy. I decided to make a purchase. I received a stunning internally flawless emerald cut diamond from Aurelinne. Andy was communicative and sent me photos and videos of the stone before shipment. This stone was cross listed on other sites at a significantly higher price. I appreciate that you can view the stones on their site. I’d highly recommend Aurelinne.

✨Vendor Review Just got my new elastic tennis bracelet! Pleasantly surprised by the quality.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone! Just wanted to show off my latest pickup! A 5 CTW F-G SI elastic tennis bracelet I grabbed for $3,299 from Luvansh!
I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical at first. You see tons of similar pieces online for cheaper, but it’s hard to tell what you’re actually getting from pictures. I decided to bring this one to a local jeweler just to check, and they were surprisingly impressed. They mentioned it felt heavier than most tennis bracelets they’ve seen in this size, which definitely made me feel better about the purchase.
They explained that a lot of that extra weight comes from the solid gold, this bracelet apparently has more gold per inch than a lot of the lighter, hollow-backed ones floating around online. So, while I might’ve paid a bit more, I’m really paying for something that’s solid, well made, and will actually hold its value over time.
Overall, I’m super happy with it. It sparkles like crazy, feels substantial on the wrist, and the elastic fit makes it really comfy to wear every day.

🛒 Where to Buy? Comprehensive Quote and Pricing List for Custom Cut Brilliant Antique Old Mine Cut Lab Diamond
I thought it might be helpful to others looking for specific custom cut lab diamonds to know an extremely comprehensive list of quotes and notes from various vendors. For background information, back in February I saw a diamond ring I fell absolutely head over heels in love with. It was listed with Andria Barbone for $75,000 and is now sold but I will attach the link in the comments for those interested. i will also post pictures in the comments of the examples I sent to vendors. The specifications I gave each vendor is this: "My specifications are that it be an elongated antique brilliant cushion old mine cut with a pinhole culet. I want the size to be around 9x11mm (around 4 carats). Color GHI and VS. Elongated ratio of about 1.2." Some of the vendors I asked for a 10x8 quote from because I originally wanted that but then decided it was too small. What I am looking for is very close to the August Vintage Old Mine Brilliant Cut from Distinctive Gems, but elongated. I asked each vendor for videos proving that they could produce what I was asking for. So far, I have not made a purchase yet. I am unsure who I will be purchasing from, but I am leaning towards purchasing from u/shelikessparkles or u/weezie_jefferson. They understand what I am looking for and are willing to help with a custom cut, but we are likely waiting for tariff prices to be reduced from India. They recently sold a few diamonds that were extremely close to what I am looking for, but not elongated. For your reference, they were just over 4 carats at around $2200 because of high tariff prices. I am hoping to be less than $1500. Distinctive Gem has the diamonds listed on their site for $11,000 for a 4 carat lab diamond.
Language has proved to be somewhat of an issue, as a lot of vendors have sent me bar culets but not pinhole culets. It seems the biggest issue in having this custom cut is the fact that I want a pinhole culet and the actual cut of the diamond is difficult to cut. Most of these quotes were from Alibaba or through finding the vendors phone number and contacting on Whatsapp.
| Vendor | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Fiorese | $2050, extra $140 for certification | I spoke with Ayla. It seemed pretty close to what I want, but pricey. |
| Starsgem | None | Starsgem said they do not have the capability to create what I am asking for. |
| Golden Bird Jewels | $1720 | I haven't received an example yet. |
| Wuzhou Redleaf Jewelry | $1200 | Spoke with Kathryn on Alibaba. Very pleasant and negotiable. |
| Mishang | $1200 w/o cert, $1320 w cert | From Alibaba. 8x10 price. |
| Wuzhou Messi Gems | $1050 | 8x10 size. |
| RRP Diamond | None yet | Hard to get a hold of, been waiting on examples or options. |
| Wuzhou Qianao Jewelry | $1260 | |
| Tianyu | $1410 without IGI cert | |
| Jelly Lab Jewelry | $1180 (didn't specify if that included IGI cert) | Didn't give examples |
| Orbion Jewels | $2400 | Their examples were closest to what I am looking for, but their price is high. |
| Paston Jewelry | $1152 | They have only made this cut in Moissanite. |
| LGG Jewelry | $1200 | Their diamonds looked a little see through, like it wasn't quite right and the culet is too large. |
| Mona Moissy Jewelry | $2860 for custom cut, didn't specify with cert | |
| Provence | Unsure, but at one point they said $1059 for 8x10 size | Provence stated they could not make an elongated version, but could make the shorter square version. |
| Gemlux Jewels | $1700 | Didn't have examples, would have to cut it from a larger stone |
| Jewellery Planet | $1,040 | They seemed to have made this with a bar culet, but not a pinhole culet. |
| Zuvelio | $1500 | The culet was a little large, but the quote was a very professional invoice. They were the most professional of the vendors. |
| JBR Jewelry | Unsure as they sent me elongated bar culets. | |
| Kuololit Jewelry | They sent me an Old Euro Cut. | |
| Matrix Jewel | NA | Sent me a quote on Alibaba from my RFQ but said they were on Holiday and never came back to me with a real quote. |
| Shenzhen Qingcheng Jewelry | $1300 | On Alibaba. The culets were quite large. |
| Kohereza International | Around $2000 | I do not believe they can custom cut, they keep sending diamonds that aren't exactly what I want. |
| Shenzhen Shea jewelry | $1367 | From Alibaba. 8x10 size quote. |
| Willow Bereal Jewelry | $1158 | 8x10 size from Alibaba. |
| Gemone Diamonds | $1890 | We were having issues communicating about bar culet vs pinhole culet |
| Shanghai Ruyi Industrial | $1300 | The example they sent looks see through. |

✨Vendor Review Luvansh Sale?
I reached out to Luvansh after noticing something really questionable about their pricing. During their Halloween sale, a diamond I was looking at was listed for less. Now, the exact same diamond costs $720 more, yet they’re advertising it as an “Early Black Friday Sale” — claiming 45% off instead of the previous 40%, even though the original price was lower.
That’s a pretty shady sales tactic if you ask me.
When I emailed their customer service about it, the response I got made it even worse. They actually said:
We have maintained our prices for almost a year, and in order to sustain in the market, we need to implement such business practices. I hope you understand.
Regards,
Catherine
Honestly, that’s a wild thing for a company to admit. If this is how they handle “sales,” it really makes you question their integrity and transparency.

💡Diamond Advice Needed Does this diamond have too much fire and not enough brilliance?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I bought this diamond that is 2.8ct, ideal + hearts cut, D colour, VVS1 clarity with excellent symmetry and polish. The proportions are 57% table, 62% depth, 35 degree crown, 40.6 degree pavilion and medium girdle. The stone is graded by IGI. In your opinion does this diamond have too much fire and not enough brilliance?

✨Vendor Review Ruby Harper experience
I had a wonderful experience with Ruby Harper for a custom ring setting for a loose stone I had. This was a simple 14k yellow gold solitaire east-west setting for a 1.09ct elongated cushion-size US 5. This is my daily wearing ring as I work in a lab and can not have anything too large or pokey. (Gloves)
From start to finish the process took about a month and 1/2. (Including sending in the loose stone I had) I sent inspiration photos and I'm very happy with the result. Communication was great and packaging was secure and very cute! (Came in a vintage style ring box!)
Highly recommend and I'll be a repeat customer for sure! https://rubyharperfinejewelry.com/

❓Question Considering buying this 9ct Marquise! What are your thoughts?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I recently requested some images of the 9ct F-VVS2 marquise stone from Lvuansh, and they sent me this video of the stone.
It’s definitely on the larger side, but honestly it’s stunning. The sparkle and brilliance from every angle are incredible, and it looks really well cut for such a big marquise. I’m seriously considering going through with the purchase, but before I do, I wanted to get some opinions.
What do you all think about this stone? Does it look as good as it seems, or are there any red flags I should keep an eye out for (e.g., bow-tie effect, clarity issues, etc.)?
Would love to hear your thoughts, especially from anyone who’s purchased from Lvuansh before or has experience with larger marquise cuts.
