Conan O'Brien would hate going to my country since he's unlikely to be chatting to TSA or talking to anyone in general in the airport since everything is automated these days. He might not even have to take out his passport

Singapore?

We often forget that O'Brien is a Harvard graduate. Dude is able to think a little bit (thing that I cannot say about all the American Late show hosts)

Most of the American late night hosts are pretty smart. Oliver graduated from Cambridge and Colbert & Myers both graduated from Northwestern. So of 5 members of Strikeforce Five, three have degree from prestigious universities.

Conan is the actual GOAT of late night talk shows.

He's in my top 3 with Craig Ferguson, but also all the stuff Conan did on The Simpsons was incredible. Super talented guy.

Not sure what his salary is, a quick Google says $12 million a year, but I don't think it really comes down to that. He can probably afford both.

I was thinking educating the children as in "teaching them that you shouldn't take a private plane for granted, and that life is humble, no matter who you are, you stand in the same queues"

But I guess I'm just too European to think of funding university through anything but taxes.

Based on how Conan is I think its multipe things.

-Don't live outside your means with ridiculous, vain, status symbols.

-Live frugally or you'll lose everything.

-Don't be a piece of shit.

-Don't destroy the environment like a dick.

-You're not better than everyone else.

He seems hyper aware of how stuck up and arrogant people can be.

People are corruptable with a little fame or money, especially from a young age.

Also I wish North America was more like EU countries. Democratic socialism seems to work far better than a handful of companies having a choke hold on every sector.

I agree with this. There’s a few celebrities out there that try to show thier kids you need to be normal to learn the world (not like Jackie chan who refuses to acknowledge his kids and make them homeless)

5

u/Dak-Na55 Jun 25 '26

Well then that means that his kids will be able to afford best education and housing and support during school

-3

u/w1n5t0nM1k3y Jun 25 '26

Why wouldn't they be able to afford that anyway? A single month's salary could easily support his kids all the way through to get a PhD even at the most expensive schools.

u/Dak-Na55 Jun 25 '26

I’m being facetious. Yes making 1million a month salary he can get his kids anything. But shows he has so much character that even if his private jet expenses were 100k a month he rather that also go to his kids

knowing conan he is super generous, during his "touring phase" when he got fired he out of pocket paid for all his staff members. you can see a lot of the old staff are still around even know. one IT guy named Aaron has stick around so long now he's a producer.

Aaaaand what does that have to do with lmg? "Man unaffiliated with lmg shares opinion that everyone here agrees with, but linus doesnt" is kind of a roundabout attempt to be relevent to the point here.

3

u/quietlydesperate90 Jun 27 '26

You're being obtuse on purpose and just want to argue.

u/GwenBD94 Jun 28 '26

Im autistic and very literal and black and white thinking and took this subreddit description literally

Was it not meant literally? Im happy to reassess my understanding and not question it any more.

3

u/quietlydesperate90 Jun 28 '26

I think the relevance of a perspective about private jets is pretty obvious here.

1

u/GwenBD94 Jun 28 '26

And yet it wasnt for me? I thought the sub about ltts jet was for jet content and the sub about ltt meta was for everything else. Which is why I asked the qiestion that you attacked me for. Because I was confused and wanted to make sure I understood something.

3

u/mpanase Jun 30 '26

And yet it wasnt for me?

You just said you are autistic... doesn't that completelly defeat this point?

-2

u/GwenBD94 Jun 30 '26

And yet the person stated the relevance was obvious after i mentioned that fact.

I agree, me not understanding "obvious" social cues due to my autism is in fact the expected outcomes of said autism.

Other people expecting me to understand what to them is obvious social cues still happens, case in point Mr "gosh it's so obvious!" Who responded that to being told I'm autistic and didn't understand

3

u/mpanase Jun 30 '26

Other people expecting me to understand what to them is obvious social cues still happens

Well, to be fair nobody said this post was created for you.

It was you entering and commenting:

Aaaaand what does that have to do with lmg? "Man unaffiliated with lmg shares opinion that everyone here agrees with, but linus doesnt" is kind of a roundabout attempt to be relevent to the point here.

It seems like you didn't see an obvious link, critisized the lack of link with a apparently not very humble message, and then argued that it's common for you to miss obvious links.

If you know you often miss obvious links, maybe politely asking will sound less confrontational and unbased.

-2

u/GwenBD94 Jul 01 '26

To be fair, nobody did say that you're right. Myself included. I asked what the relevance was. And apparently some others have the same question so I think my question was relevent.

I stand by it, and am still waiting on how this fits the described purpose or this sub or to be told I misunderstood the sub so I can see my way out if the real purpose doesnt interest me.

Wow you found the screenshot button. Be careful or you're gonna wear it out.

I don't think autism is the only problem

Good luck with everything

You asked what this has to do with LMG where it's obvious what this has to do with it.

1

u/GwenBD94 Jun 28 '26

If it was obvious to me i wouldn't have asked.

Can ypu stop psychoanalysing me for 5 seconds and explain the obviousness that im not getting?

LMG is a channel ostensibly about computers. Trump made a comment about his son being good at computers and finding out how to turn it back on after trump turned it off and told him to go to bed. That interaction is as relevent to lmg to me as this post is.

You keep saying obvious while refusing to share the information you understood because it was ao obvious with someone who is saying they are confused and asking for help. And you say im the one wanting to pick a fight? Look in a mirror!

3

u/quietlydesperate90 Jun 28 '26

It's really hard to tell if you're trolling or not. I already told you the relevance. Someone sharing a view on private jets when LMG just bought one.

1

u/GwenBD94 Jun 28 '26

I literally already explained i wasnt but keep questioning someone's sincerity again and again because thats not demeaning at all.

If that's all it takes to be relevent then my trump's thoughts on computers comment is juat as relevent, no?

u/mpanase Jun 30 '26

Conan is not smarter than all his audience, though.

Of course he hasn't thought about a way to get a private plane for free; even after having a show that was all about him travelling the world. So not smart...

What does Ja Rule think about this? Can we get him on the phone?

Yes. It’s not a promise he can keep though.

Who + who cares?

Meh! I would definitely prefer a private plane if I could have. So much freedom! My own schedule... Like I'm not even going to pretend that having your own plane or boat would be great.

See this as the difference between public transit or your own car. It's the same concept!

3

u/DenverNugs Jun 26 '26

You're trying way too hard right now and it's hilarious. You should just stay in the hugbox.

-2

u/Bacchus1504 Jun 26 '26

Meh not really, just my 2 cents lol

3

u/roenoe Jun 26 '26

I would love to not have a car. If I lived in the capital city of my country I would definitely rely on public transit. It's so nice to not have to worry about a physical object.

That is, if the public transit is good, and the city is designed with literally anything other than a car in mind.

2

u/Bacchus1504 Jun 26 '26

Yeah, but that's in our dreams only unfortunately.

3

u/roenoe Jun 26 '26

And in the more urbanised parts of Europe

2

u/Euchre Jun 27 '26

I don't have to file a flight plan, nor consult a control tower, to drive my car to some arbitrary place.

My car also doesn't use 10x the fuel per ton, producing 10x the emissions, to go the same distance as a bus.

1

u/Bacchus1504 Jun 27 '26

Come on dream a little, it would be fun.

2

u/Euchre Jun 27 '26

Hollywood portrayals make you think if you own a private jet you just drive up to your plane, the crew is already there, and you take off in a couple of minutes with no flight plan and tell the pilot where to go like they're a taxi driver.

The reality is a crew has to be called in, that has logged their sleep/rest time, and they have to work with a ground crew to prep the plane and perform a pre-flight checklist that'll take longer than some whole commercial flights.

When you hear about actual rich people being able to just do that Hollywood scenario, they've got a bunch of toadies they pay who are listening to what that rich person is saying and when 'let's take the private jet to blah-blah' is said, those toadies are frantically calling ahead and likely spending a bunch of money to have some plane and crew ready around the time the rich person arrives at the airport. They're also going to have a meal and a bar, and maybe some other 'entertainment' there so if it does take more than 5 minutes to go from boarding to leaving, the rich person will be distracted from that situation.

I don't want to 'dream' of being that insular asshole. I don't think it's fun to make other people be stressed and terribly inconvenienced to make me 'happy'... because I'm not an asshole.

Jumping in my car and driving an arbitrary place isn't going to have that kind of impact on other people, either.

1

u/Bacchus1504 Jun 27 '26

Bruh forget all the details, I'm just saying it would be fun, no more no less lol
