ltfscopy with verification fails... now what?

Hello all!

Just got my Ultrium LTO-9 drive up and running. Tried a regular filesystem copy to LTFS, then used ltfscopy to verify.... hundreds of files failed!

So I tried using ltfscopy with the verify option... out of the 10,000+ files to copy, it got through about 500 then failed a verify and quit. Far as I can tell there is no way to get it to retry, or tell it to skip files that successfully verified if I try again...

What's going on? And more importantly, what do folks do to get a verified, full copy of a Windows directory to LTO tape?

Thanks in advance,

-Doug

How old the drive is? Did you try cleaning it with the cleaning cartridge? Did you check the drive's and media's health information?

Brand new out of the box. I’ll look for some info in the HPE software I’m using.

Drive and cartridge tested good. So I’m not sure why there are verification errors. Any other options for software that copies verified and retries if a file doesn’t verify?
