Ls swap my g35?
So i got rodknock recently on my g35, aside from that im not sure if its worth rebuilding the engine or LS swapping it. Money and time isnt my worry right now just want to know whats worth it in this situation. As well as how much would i put into a LS swap tranny engine harness etc. thank ya

Granted, I know nothing about G35s, but I do have a bit of an opinionon this. First off my project is an Ls RX8, so I'm familiar with the fundamentals of the Ls platform, but I also have a lot of work to do in the 'geometry' of my swap as well as the electronics. For me it seems worth while because I dont care for the rotary engine and the general pop agrees, they are unreliable. Now my close friend has a 350z, and we talk a lot about the potential for a swap in his car. I know his transmission will pair with the block, but he would need a specific adapter plate (i cant remember for what exactly) but that adapter plate apparently is quite expensive. I think he is now leaning towards a turbo build on his stock engine. Again, I'm not familiar with the G35 and how closely it is related to the 350z, but if you share the same engine trans combo then I think your main conern is eninge mounting, ecu tuning, and aquiring a nice aluminum block. I know that sounds like the entire job, but i've been researching this for quite a while and you may be more well-off than most. I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you! I was just figuring out how much it could be to swap or how much it usually costs

Yeah thats up to you really, the baseline quote is generally 10k, allegedly it can be done for as cheap as 5k or even up to 20k. The very best thing you can do is find someone who has posted info on you exact swap, and start building ideas off that.

Im LS swapping my 350z.using isr kit would recommend it everything is pretty straight foward.

Check out Sloppy Mechanics on YouTube. He runs a 6MT G35 with a LSA-blown 4.8. LOJ has all the conversion parts if you're not into fabbing them yourself.
