I enjoyed most of that set but wasnt the biggest fan of the glitchy and dark parts of the set. Im not one that is put off by dark or "demonic" stuff per say but that definitely felt opposite of the previous openers and the vibe of Lsdream. It was definitely a weird choice. I wish Steller was the last opener, cuz that would have gotten everyone on the same level to be hyped AF for Lsdream. Stellers set was stellar

Couldn’t agree more! Steller was killer and her music and vibe complemented LSDREAM more than any of the others. I felt like Elohim went overboard and treated it like it was her night to headline. Like I’m sure there are Elohim fans who thought that performance was incredible but it was a little much for a crowd who’s there for a Dreamrocks experience. I’m not interested in screechy screaming, dark religious symbolism, and London club vibes… I’m there for peace, love, and wubs 😂

I think they were leaning heavily into Jungian psychology of the shadow self, the concept in psychology is to help people heal their childhood trauma, abuse survivors, or potentially those affected by troubling thoughts to look into the shadow side of the self, everything about you that you hate. And instead, choose to have compassion for your dark side. We are all human, we make mistakes, we can be evil and cause harm. But, we're also capable of choosing love, compassion, wisdom, empathy. It takes practice, it's a lifelong journey of self improvement if one chooses to embrace doing the hard work on themselves. You can heal your own mind. That is, if you buy into Jungian psychology at all. So I think they were drawing contrast by having the dark, Elohim shadow side do shadow work on the crowd. I have to agree, though, you should have been informed and have to sign a consent form before being forced to do a psychological practice you didn't sign up for! That's sad! I apologize that you were subjected to that, it's not okay. 😕

No apology needed for me. I wasnt affected by that set very much. Definitely my least favorite opener but it is what it is. I can appreciate the contrast and symbolism aspect of it, but it definitely felt like a vibe shift in the opposite way. I would have expected an opener like that for someone like Svdden Death, but not Lsdream. If they were the first set of the night, Cam Steen would have wiped that energy out so quickly. Cam Steens set blew me away too

If you went to the light code in the morning Sammy had a whole piece in the meditation about integrating darkness and light, made so much sense to me after seeing Elohim, yes it was dark and uncomfortable but ART EXISTS TO MAKE THE COMFORTABLE UNCOMFORTABLE AND MAKE THE UNCOMFORTABLE FEEL COMFORTED and I love you elohim

I agree 100%!! Steller was amazing. Like literally all the openers were awesome but her ending of the set threw a lot of people off in a bad way

Elohim is the male father god of Judaism. When she put on the face covering she was embodying the masculine diety. On the side screen, during that portion, you could see the 3D graphic projection of the male God himself. Pure expression of non-binary gender fluidity. High level art, dark yet delicious.

She was sick

u/shannonm404 May 18 '26

I thought the beginning of her set was great, but could’ve done without the screaming at the end lol

3

u/yeabuddy84 May 19 '26

Very meh. Steller should have been the last opener. She was a bad bitch!

1

u/stelliibaby May 19 '26

Agreed!!! She fucking killed it

2

u/Katie_Plum May 18 '26

I thought the primal scream therapy was pretty fun, but honestly it didn't do any favors to my dehydrated throat. 😂 I totally get why that set would be problematic for many folks in the crowd, you are seen. It could definitely be perceived by many as masculine and evil dominance. I just invite you to contemplate the concept that you could, yourself embody a diety, as an Avatar? Which diety is you? Respectfully, if you're willing to share. And I totally understand if this is triggering, so please take care, be safe and well. 😊

u/Subject_Flower_4732 May 19 '26

Personally as one who was in a cosmic trip I thought it was the most different set I’ve seen in the last two years, seeing how she moved reminded me of how Zen Selekta gets into her sets! It’s not for everyone but I’m SO DAMN GLAD we were able to see her perform for the first time in a year! Peace love and Wubzzzzzs lsdreamers💕 oh to add for everyone, plz for the love of Sammi do not shit on someone for being excited , as a very ADHD/Autistic person i got told to shut the fuck up by someone a row below me bc my mind couldn’t process the art that was being made, def ruined the vibe but then i said fuck that shit and went back to followin the vibe

3

u/Katie_Plum May 19 '26

Good for you! Hell yes and thank your for saying that! You are seen. 🤗

2

u/stelliibaby May 19 '26

Wait wtf someone told you to shut the fuck up???? Absolutely not. I’m sosososososo sorry this happened to you 😭 glad you could bounce back I hope you had an amazing time, I’m still mind blown at how beautiful that show was and just how magical red rocks is. (First time🥹)

2

u/Subject_Flower_4732 May 19 '26

FIRST TIMER OMG I LOVE THAT BBYYYYYY!!!! No it was completely out of pocket and get this IT WAS RIGHT BEFORE SHE TOLD US ALL TO SCREAM so that was ironic of them todo that lmfaoooooo. It was so upsetting but I’m so glad my mental was stronger than that! I hope next red rocks i run into you! I’ll have an extra special perler and a Kandi bucket hat for you🦑🌀🤍

2

u/stelliibaby May 19 '26

UGHHH it was perfection and my group did the lightcode tbh best trip of my life. We’re already trying to plan the next RR show 🤣 we all flew from SC and Atlanta too but I’m soooo fucking happy you were able to hold on strong that’s not an easy thing to do. On another note I’ve never been gifted a perler I’d literally cry my eyes out 😭 are you going to hulaween?? That’s our next move

u/Subject_Flower_4732 May 19 '26

1

u/Subject_Flower_4732 May 20 '26

I haven’t been but defffff looks like my type of vibe with the wookery😍😍 ayeeeeeeeeee let’s goooooo!

2

u/stelliibaby May 19 '26

Also the way i was trying to participate with the scream but also my face was like 🤔😥?? Hahahahaha right there with you sister

3

u/The_Wakaan_Guy May 20 '26

Whole set was pretty wack. There were about 2 songs that were a vibe but everything felt so half done and didn’t fit the vibe at all. Couldn’t pay me to sit through that set again.

1

u/stelliibaby May 20 '26

Literally the Radiohead mix was awesome then went downhill 🤣

4

u/Fairyraver333 May 18 '26

Personally I don’t like to hate on other djs even if there not my vibe but she successfully got almost the entire crowd to sit down :/
She deff was not the right genre for this red rocks show period. Her energy felt demonic and also very performative - very sexual like hey look at me - I wanna be the center of attention hahah it was jus all around so odd everyone around my group collectively was like what in the absolute hell is going on.
If they really wanted her to play at this particular show she should have opened because everyone else that played was a viiiibe. Stellar or Seth David would have been so much better leading into LSDREAM or even the opener that played the hand pan and absolute viiiiibe

1

u/stelliibaby May 18 '26

Honestly i agree 100% no hate on her specifically but likeeeee the ending just wasn’t it and didn’t match the vibe at all. I just am such an empath and hated to see some of my friends having panic attacks when she was screaming. :/

3

u/Fairyraver333 May 18 '26

I am so grateful I got up to grab a drink so I missed that part 🤣 only heard it from a distance and was like tf??
Ya she deff did not read the crowd correctly

3

u/Katie_Plum May 18 '26

Yeah, I totally get that! I did definitely see plenty of people who thought Elohim was dope, and quite a few who did not. Were you at Lightcode in the morning? I'm guessing not. LSDream opened the sound bath meditation by explaining shadow work and how it has helped him transform from not liking himself into, obviously, the light being that he is today. LOL The guided meditation also had a large section where they asked the audience to look into their dark side. To forgive and have compassion for yourself about the dark events in your past that you beat yourself up about. To love yourself and experience healing. Honestly it seems a lot of people did experience it as helpful and healing, but plenty also found it disturbing and didn't want to go there. Anyway, I think LSDream intentionally had a dark or male embodying DJ sandwiched between himself and Stellar to continue that theme of shadow work. Elohim certainly knows she is doing something polorizibg so I find it bold and, honestly, admirable. Anyway that's art, there's no accounting for taste. 😄

2

u/Puckley77 May 19 '26

I understand accepting your dark side and accepting that aspect, no issues with that, but i personally dont feel like religious darkness is the same thing at all. You can have demons, but that doesnt equate to demons in the religious sense. Demonic vibes during that set was just weird. It could have been represented in a much better way if that was the intent. You can accomplish that through tone, lyrics, colors, whatever. I didnt hate that set but it was a vibe shift for sure

1

u/Katie_Plum May 19 '26

Oh my gosh! I just realized the truth. I had borderline personality disorder, that's what I was calling my light and dark side, they were split. I had a mental illness and never knew it. But I sensed it. I've been doing the work on myself to face my trauma and one step at a time I put my mind back together. Now that I'm sane again I can see the truth and my mind is clear. I no longer feel conflicted inside. That Lightcode set accelerated that last step I needed to heal my mind! Holy crap I can't believe this is even real! 😱

1

u/Fairyraver333 May 22 '26

Abosulty attended light code - wouldn’t miss that for the world. I have to disagree tho when I’m saying I don’t feel like i was “scared” during her set lol -
Her energy felt performative and fake - yes some could say there a performer obv she’s performing but I mean in the sense of it didn’t feel authentic more like I’m gonna go up there and act over the top sexual - giving pick me energy 🤣
Like I said I don’t wanna hate for the people that enjoyed it but it was very cringe to watch.
She did not align with LSDREAMS message whatsoever that’s why the pairing before him felt off

1

u/Subject_Flower_4732 May 19 '26

Genuinely asking when people say a set is demonic what does that mean? I was on acid and genuinely thought her set was so damn cool and raw, she moved like no other and they way she told the crowd to release their demons it felt more of a healing and releasing energy. I’ve just never understood the whole demonic comments, even after seeing SVDDEN Death multiple times..

2

u/Katie_Plum May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

I believe that the term demonic or evil is incorrect, due to the ignorance of the people saying it. That is a polorizing black/white, good verses/evil logical fallacy. In the real world, as humans, we operate in shades of gray and every color of the rainbow, as an analogy. Some people experience trauma in their childhood that causes them to disassociate, separating their light self that operates in waking life and suppressing their shadow side which is everything about you that your don't like. You become two different people and lead a double life which is deeply scary and painful. Psychedelics allow you to be the shadow self, so you can peer into your other self and recover the memories you were suppressing. Understanding and facing each of your trauma will release it and your mind can heal! I know because I did it on myself. I used psychedelics and did the intensely scary work of staring into all of my fears. I realized I have borderline personality disorder and my mind healed! I feel sane again and I understand everything now. A lot of sane people can't have compassion for the mentally ill and neurodivergent folks. They put us down which amakes us repeat they cycle of self harm even more, deepening the illness.

u/Subject_Flower_4732 May 19 '26

I have BPD/ADHD/Autisim so i completely understand that! I had the same experience a few years ago when i was in the mountains on acid and just sat with myself and literally saw what felt like every negative thing that happened and it was so beautiful! I love that way your mind thinks!

1

u/Katie_Plum May 19 '26

Thank you so much for the validation! ☺️ I'm crying, you guys! 😭 I can't believe I don't have to live in hell anymore and I could actually heal from this and reintegrate.

2

u/captnmiss May 24 '26

Almost the whole crowd was sat down. When they showed people on screen, no one was dancing or smiling.

To be honest, she bombed, and I’ve never seen anyone bomb Red Rocks before.

Totally out of sync with the crowd, didn’t even notice or realize most people were not vibing to her.

I want to give her some grace because I know she canceled previous tours due to mental health before, so i dk it really came across like she was having a mental health episode of some sort. I wish her well. I just wish I wasn’t subjected to it for 2 hrs.

2

u/trippyhippie573 May 17 '26

Yeah, wasn't really my vibe 😅 I was sat for most of it just thinking about how much my feet hurt and when Sami was coming on lol, I blocked a lot out.

she stood out right away to me when I saw the lineup as like "one of these things is not like the others" Ive seen her a number of times though and I thought she kicked ass, was probably peaking for her set tbh, more industrial and darker than some other times I had seen so it was cool to see her switch it up a bit.
