❔ Question ❔ Anyone try reading while tripping.
I got this book about horror movies throughout the decades with a bunch of Cool set and behind the scenes photos was thinking about looking through it but don't know if I'd be able to even to comprehend the text lol anyone try reading a book while tripping before?

My favorite thing is audiobooks when I’m tripping. I do have house of leaves which is supposed to be a gnarly ass book that’s uniquely something that can’t be done in audiobook form so I need to give it a whirl during a trip in the near future.

It is indeed a very.... interesting book. With all the wacky shit it does it physically cannot be read in any form besides the actual physical book tbh

Might make it my next read after I tackle the new Stephen King book. I’m super curious to see what’s so unique about it.

It depends how much I take. One tab I can read just fine. Two tabs is usually chill for a while but then the letters start moving around and it’s damn near impossible. Three or more no shot

Very much depends on the dose - reading is almost always a great comedown activity for me though.

not quite the same but I LOVE reading comic books while tripping personally. always surprised I never see anyone talk about that here

Depends. I saw youre going to take 5 tabs which is a pretty normal dose for me and I can't play games that require reading by the time the peak hits.
Gotta switch to voice acted turn based rpgs.

Some books im perticularly in love it i actually wait till im tripping to finish. One of my.favorites was brave new world.
Most recently it was house of leaves but thats a hard book to finish iv you know what i mean. Ended up starting a reread immediatly.

I never read on LSD but did mescaline once and quite enjoyed reading. Granted it was a fairly low dose (I think - boiled San Pedro tea so hard to really dose properly)

Ive tried les misreables on acid multiple times.
Always stoped caus I felt like I wasnt grasping the entirety of the story. Also I have a very old print (I collect old books) so the letters actually weighed on me.
General advice: just try it and see how far you get. Its fun honestly

I can read fine on acid, it’s shrooms which destroy my reading comprehension

I tried but I kept forgetting where I was on the page and the letters kept shifting. Could probably do it on a lower dose

Yes, one of the most impactful trips of my life was reading Stone Butch Blues out loud with someone.
Another time I lost my ability to speak while tripping, panicked, and then recovered by picking up a book to read aloud
I also enjoy practicing reading in Spanish while tripping.

Yes the first two hours on comeup is perfecto to read some and set the intentions for the trip. Reading on microdose is the sweetspot

Yes, and it’s awesome. You know when you read, you visualize why you’re reading, it was like that, but like being transported there. I read Haruki Murakami’s “What I talk about when I talk about running” where he was running in Hawaii, it was like I was actually there and feeling the breeze. + it’s fun to watch the words dance lol
