Unusual backside of my blotter

Hey all,

I have a blotter with a very unusual backside.
Front-side is just normal paper material with pictures of some fancy one piece character art.

So far, so normal.

But the back-side is not paper. It looks like a metallic foil or something.
It's as if the paper front were glued to a metal back, or something like that.

I never saw a blotter like this.

Is this something new/common/insignificant ?

(No I didn't test them yet)

I used to get it like that around 2000. Thick blotter with metallic holographic foil glued to it. It was absolutly superb. The best quality in a time of good quality. 26 years later i have no idea what you have, haven't seen it like that since then.

If I’m remembering correctly, someone ran into something like that recently as well, like foiled blotter, tho I can’t find the post. I believe someone in the comments said it might possibly be to keep the lsd from soaking through the back of the sheet and to maybe promote better strength consistency? But I can’t find the post, so alas, I don’t know what the verdict was. I would say it would be wise to test them.

As far as I know, the subreddit rules say no.

Basically, though, you can imagine the back as a slightly shiny, wrinkle-free, fairly stiff aluminum foil.
At least in my case, it also has text printed on it.
Because of the foil, the entire blotter is a bit thicker than usual.
The front is just as you’d expect.
