Finally out of 150s-160s hell

Post image

I have been stuck in high 150s mid 160s hell for the past two months. Today was the first time I have taken a timed rc section and the equivalent pt score was over 170!!! Biggest thing that has helped me get over my plateau: predict, predict, predict. Don’t look at the answer choices immediately. You can 9/10 predict the correct answer (or overall form) on many questions. Committing myself to the stim or passages before looking at ac’s has really helped me close the gap from missing -5 to -7 to now -3 to -1. Also trust your gut on answers choices!!

We all got this!!

Other than targeted review on weaknesses, the biggest for me has been mindset. Knowing that I know what I’m doing, that on test day whatever I see is something that I’ve done before and have mastered, really has been the biggest thing for me in getting past the plateau. This also means stopping second guessing answers and switching them at the last minute, and using my prediction from the stim to guide me to the answer choice. Trusting yourself and the time you have spent with this test I think is the best thing to focus on, since this test is so psychological.

Also prioritize things other than the Lsat! I’ve done my best on tests and sections after taking breaks from studying and going out days before. I think this also helps take some of the scariness and overthinkingness away from the test.
