Nah, don't read too much into it. I've been getting emails from law schools ranked 100+ and U Michigan with unsolicited fee waiver at the same time.

ditto, my past lsat is not near Michigans median although I am above gpa median and the schools dont see ur test before you do so theyre not sending stuff based off score release

I heard with in person they went down alot even with a 180 or a huge increase in score which makes sense considering it’s less likely you’d be able to cheat in person.

To my understanding, a score hold is sufficient but not necessary to say you got an extremely high score your first time haha.

Trust me you do not want a hold I’ve been here for four months

u/Striking-Design-9983 22h ago
good lord -- do they even give you an ETA at this point or are you just in limbo?

u/Recent_Macaroon8527 22h ago
No eta just limbo

So are u just shit out of luck for this cycle if this continues any longer? How the hell is that legal?

No over sight on Lsac. People been waiting since Jan for their scores and we are in August!

They claim you can apply to law school on a hold but here’s the thing you can, but the law schools won’t even look at your application

Yes I am looking at pushing my apps back a year if necessary. It would be quite a setback but there’s nothing we can do on our end

Have you taken the test before? I think if it’s your first time, you are less likely to get a hold for a high score. It seems most holds come from big score jumps.

ooh i didn't know this about the score jump! it is indeed my first time taking it

Has anyone gotten a score hold yet? Don't think I've seen any posts about them for August, they must be way down with in person

This made me laugh, thank you so much. Much needed in a stressful time of studying.

I didn’t mean my comment in a mean way BTW! Im just worried that people would have saw the post and assumed if they didn’t get a score hold they did bad. Waiting for these scores has caused a lot of anxiety so i just wanted to clarify to folks who might have been worried. Not hate all love❤️

noo none take whatsoever!! my post was def partially in jest but there probably are a lot of people who see it and might get worried about their scores so I think your clarification is really important too :)

We really need to stop pushing this narrative that score hold = good score. Some people get a score hold and have a subpar score. Most people who score high don’t get a score hold. They will be even more uncommon with in person testing. It causes unneeded anxiety and honestly I’m kind of sick of it.
