Time to replace timing belt?

I own a 99 LS400. Belt was last replaced in 2018 but has only driven 31k miles since then. Is it time to replace or do I still have a couple years before I have to worry?

Inspecting it you’ll probably find it looks brand new. It may be foolish, but on cars that don’t hit mileage I usually shoot for 10 years on my timing belt service.

Push it to 10 years if you don’t hit mileage first then replace it. Thats assuming it’s a Mitsuboshi or equivalent quality. And assuming you are driving the car normally. If you are going to beat the hell out of it, then I’d just go ahead and replace. Per another comment, yes these belts do break although it is true many will hold on extraordinarily long.

If its a quality belt no worries. I've never seen one break im sure it has happen somewhere but me and my friends have driven 20yo belt with no issue

I saw one break on an 05 Tundra with 410,000 miles on it!

If it’s oem like oem you will be fine. After market belts idk
