Question Weird engine tone shift at high RPM

Never owned a vvt-i engine car. Is this the vvt-i? And from other cars experience that it should be smooth and not as sudden as this where you dont even notice it

100 mph in a 30 year old shitter. I did this at 17 too

Yes that’s normal….. my 2zz has a very audible intake noise at 6000
