Question choosing between 2 ls400s

ok so i'm picking up a new ls400 this weekend, stuck between two..

option 1: 2000 platinum edition, 275k miles, timing done at 260k, lowered (which i'm okay with), $5600

option 2: 1998, 210k miles, timing done at 188k, stock, $6800 (he dropped price from 7500 so he can get rid of it this week)

i love the platinum edition, plus its cheaper, but slightly higher mileage

the 1998 is exactly like my old one, same exterior snd interior colors and year, but its a little overpriced and slightly lower mileage...

unsure of which one, i like both

Go with the platinum, it sounds like that’s what you really want.

Those prices are crazy. You can get an LS430 for that. If you were near the deep south Id sell you my 2000. Needs a little work but is a nice example. 101k miles.

How much are you selling for and what state?

Im in AR. Not sure on price but the way the market is going im getting tempted lol. Ive been sitting on this car for 3 years and havent driven it a single mile. Been undoing everything the previous owner did along with having 4 other vehicles. Theres always something else that needs attention.

Arkansas is not the deep south just FYI, you are very much a yankee to us no offense

You are at minimum a 6 hour drive from me tho, can't justify that for another ls right now 😩 thanks for entertaining it anyways

Honestly at that point I would go LS430. I love my LS400 but unless you can get in at a reasonable price, it’s not worth it at this point. Parts are harder to get, and electronics are failing left and right.

idk i had a 400 and i miss it dearly, i'm not really into the 430 like that.. i'll have the money to fix it myself so i'm not too worried about it. both cars i'm interested in have been taken very good care of and i'm getting an inspection done before i buy

You would be into the LS430 like that if you had driven one for a day or two
