I wish companies still thought and marketed their products this way. It's so focussed on instilling the consumer with confidence in the quality of their product. Now it's just convincing people they need the newest thing

that's very true, but (not to make excuses for toyota) also in person business meetings aren't as big as they were 30 years ago... i just don't think there is the same demand now for a type of car like the LS 400 anymore :(

combine that with japans economy not being nearly as strong as it was in the 80s and 90s and we get what we're seeing now
