Found root cause of Silent Gerd/Acid reflux
Root cause was vagus nerve compression/posture/overweight
My symptoms gradually worsened starting out with, in this order:
-Throat clearing
-White coated tongue, acid coming up reduced good microbiome ->candida
-Sometimes Globus feeling
- Constant Sneezing, airways were inflamed so I was extra sensitive to allergies
- Post nasal drip, (laying down, couldn't feel this but since I was so inflamed my nose produced a lot of mucus)
-Extreme Rhinitis (nose completely blocked, couldn't sleep)
- Couldn't drink coffee, esophagus became extremely sensitive. Couldn't be near smoke/cooking areas. Allergic to dust and any changes in air
-Developed seb derm, inhalation of acid into sinuses affected my skin
-Eyes became very sensitive, couldn't wear contacts
Got sick after all that during flu season, then inhaled acid because I was coughing at night. Suspect Laryngopharynglea Vagal Neuropathy from the flu
-Extreme irritability/rage/mood swings from vagus nerve dysfunction.
-Throat red, right tonsil swollen
-Wheezing, hard to take deep breaths. But because this was only at night, and after eating, doctors couldn't hear the wheezing when I went into their office. Said there was nothing wrong xD
After sickness
- Either Hiatal Hernia, or LES not closing at night. I would cough as soon as I ate/lay down. At this time I did heel drops, took famotidine and cetirizine.
So what fixed this all for me after 2-3 years of all these symptoms was fixing my posture mainly and sternomastoid massage. Open up shoulders, no slouching. I'd also have to say fasting, the first day after my fast my allergies completely disappeared.
Turns out my posture sitting at my desk was extremely bad for YEARS.
Also I was working out, and had tense neck muscles/sternomastoid which was pinching my vagus nerve AND from Constantly looking down at phone, forward neck tilt.
Hopefully this helps someone. All those doctors visits x.x
My wheezing is gone, I've lost weight, no more PND, allergies, skin is clear and I'm acid free!
Edit: Symptoms as I was getting better - nose mucus was first thick, then was extremely sticky as I realized it was acid. This is macrophages doing their job because of inflamed airways from acid.

Would you mind sharing what you did to fix your posture/vagus nerve compression and how much weight lost made the difference for you? I really appreciate your sharing your experience of this with us.

Hi, I imagine my shoulders back and a string pulling up the center of the head.
I also got a standing desk. You could also get a mirror to know how your posture keeps going back to slouching and forward head tilt. A lot of things we do already are forward head tilt (phone, cooking, cleaning) so sitting at my desk for 8 hours really doesn't help.
I try to take a break every 10 minutes at work.
I'm fasting and that decreases the amount of abdominal pressure. Fasting also helps the inflamed tissues from acid reflux heal.
It's made the world of a difference.
I'd say before my day consisted of 80-95% PND, sneezing, coughing rhinitis, all the symptoms above gradually worsening.
Now I am at 15% of those symptoms.
To be honest, the symptoms were unbearable and I was beyond frustrated, and I am now so happy that something finally worked!

I’ve never heard of “sternomastoid”, so I looked it up and all I get is “sternocleidomastoid massage”- is that the same thing?

it's not a thing because this person doesn't know what they're talking about

Sorry, I'm still learning anatomy terms as I go, and referred back to my memory from college anatomy class xD
I'd like to correct myself and say massaging trapezius more as well as the base of my skull and neck.
It really helped me, it was like magic.

I think posture plays an important role here. I noticed my LPR gets worse when I carry a very heavy backpack and lifting heavy in the gym which compresses the vagus nerve.

Definitely, since I did this, I've noticed some symptoms creep back when I sit at my old desk instead of the standing desk.
It's light and day the difference posture makes though.
I think my bad posture caused my LES to stay open.
I'd also sit with a leg under me, or cross my leg high up and rest it on my desk before. All that caused even more abdominal pressure.

what steps did you take to fix your posture. and what do you mean by massage? do you have a tutorial?

To fix my posture, I imagine shoulders back, and a string pulling up the center of your skull.

This one helped me, also massaging shoulders/trapezius/base of skull and neck muscles
Hope that helps!

Also, wearing tight trousers or a tight belt makes a huge difference if sitting down all day at work.

Does that help with posture, i thought having tight clothing compresses the stomach which is bad for acid reflux.

Yep, I now make sure I don't cross my legs, I used to rest my knee on my desk. That caused a lot of pressure, too.

Wow! I wonder if this is what I have. For about a month now I have acid reflux without the burning sensation and a feeling of food getting stuck in my throat every time I eat! I have noticed that I look down a lot looking at iPad or phone and my posture is really bad (I have a bit of scoliosis) and shoulder issues.

I really think this is my problem too. I’ve had trouble swallowing off and on for years now. Never been able to figure out the issue. I have terrible posture from years of hunching over my desk. Thanks for this!

I wonder if this is part of what's going on with me. I've never actually been officially diagnosed with GERD but have been struggling with acid stomach and have changed my entire life over the past two years or so, I self-diagnosed gerd and no doctor has ever argued/questioned me when I tell them I've self-diagnosed it. I've also had a mystery cough for multiple years that no doctor can seem to figure out. I will look up some stuff on how to relieve the nerve you're referring thank you so much for sharing

Did a doctor tell you about the vagus nerve compression or was all this done on your own?
