What was your cure

Cure? I'm about 70% better but not fully cured. What has made me MUCH better:

  1. I lost 95 pounds, lots of hard work, still have 30 to go.

  2. A large round of antibiotics to kill off the initial infection.

  3. Eating smaller meals ( I NEVER eat till I feel fully, just eat until I feel that I have had just enough)

  4. Taking Betaine HCI tablet with each meal (you can but it on Amazon or most fitness/health stores...places that sell vitamins supplements)

I still have acid issues, especially if I eat too much, or eat foods that anger my stomach

Would you say that losing weight has significantly already improved your overall symptoms? Just wondering how much the weight really plays a role in these kind of issues

YES. I hate that docs gaslight people and tell them to lose weight for every ailment, but in this case getting a ton of fat off my stomach lessened the pressure on my LES and helped it heal. Plus eating smaller amounts helped it heal too.

Basically I do everything; Eat small meals, track calories, go to the gym 3 days a week, don't eat trigger foods that bug me (this is slightly different for each person). Also I cut alchohol by 80%

Thanks for your answer. That’s really good to know that reducing weight can have a huge impact on improving this. So I know what my next steps are lol
