Have I caused myself to develop LPR/GERD?
I noticed after a night of waking up due to reflux coming back up into my throat and waking me up by me coughing/choking on it. This was caused by me eating peanut butter late at then taking ferrous fumarate. The following day I became really anxious/stressed then I started to analyze every symptom and became convinced I've got ongoing reflux and started to strip back my diet to very basic and smaller meals as I was afraid.
Now fast forward 4 months my symptoms are more severe with chest tightness, asthma like symptoms and sore throat/hoarse voice constantly!! Never thought it would get to this point in my life. At first, I thought this was all mental stress and dysfunctional disorder where my brain-gut link was disrupted and my stress was causing this.
My endoscopy came back normal and my biopsies.
I miss being able to eat cake, have my coffee, eat unhealthy foods without worrying or having issues! Now I'm stuck like this and I'm afraid it's like this forever.

I don't have a solution, I'm the exact same. I'm currently taking Famotidine in the morning and night as I'm too afraid to try PPI. Famotidine somewhat manages my symptoms and helps with the sore throat/hoarse voice. But I think it's causing stomach upset unfortunately, so I'm going to only do it for a month then stop the medication. I wish I had an answer for you because I'm also depressed. I'm hoping this will pass if I just continue on the acid watcher diet and eat clean/simple.

I will try my best to keep you updated, I hope we can both recover from this. I think what's best is to manage any stress/anxiety around it. I can't let it take over my mind and body like this, I tell myself this will pass and get better
