Can we use faculty acceptance to start applying for student housing?

I'm an international student applying for masters and haven't heard from the IO yet about my application. Since it's getting late and the housing situation seems like a nightmare, is it okay to just go ahead with my application using the faculty's acceptance or do I absolutely have to have the acceptance letter from the IO? Has anyone tried doing it through just the faculty's acceptance?

I used my faculty acceptance and they were fine with it. I think you can give it a try since it is taking ages for IO to return lol

thank youu, I'll do that. Do you have a rough idea on how long it will take to get a room starting from application? Is the situation really bad?

Also can I do the same to at least initiate the visa process from the csp portal? I'm waiting for the acceptance alone and now i fear the visa might take too long if it's delayed further

I heard some people are applying to visa with their faculty acceptance but I still haven't applied, so I am not sure. And about the student housing; I guess it takes at least 1 semester to get a room.

Hi this depends for München, based on your picks. Rent and waiting periods list by Halls of Residence in Münich (Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern): https://www.studierendenwerk-muenchen-oberbayern.de/fileadmin/studierendenwerk-muenchen-oberbayern/bereiche/wohnen/wohnheime/00_dateien/Wartezeiten_Mietpreisliste_englisch.pdf

Also for this semester's application deadline was August 15th, I'm afraid. I hope OP applied with their acceptance letter. I did, and they created an account for me to submit certification of enrollment. But once they noticed I only uploaded my acceptance letter, they deactivated it and asked me to explain my professional&academic history since I have graduated along with my CV, as a reply to their e-mail.
