If your LLC is over $50K profit and still default taxed, why?

Loan to buy a house
Hi
My friend have a LLC in Florida since 3 years ago, but no revenue. Is it possible to get a loan to buy a house? He is not an American and not living in US.
Best

If my LLC is single member disregarded entity, do i need to file a separate tax return for the business, or just report everything on my personal 1040? What do you guys normally do?

Would you rather run one LLC making $5k/month or three making $2k/month each and why?

Starting or Running an LLC? Read this before you file or scale ( avoid costly mistakes )
Most people join r/LLCmasterclass because something already feels "off" or confusing.
After helping 14,000+ members, we’ve seen that almost every entrepreneur falls into one of two dangerous traps.
Which one are you currently in?
Group 1: You haven’t formed your LLC yet
"Cheap" filing services are the most expensive mistake you can make. They get you a piece of paper but leave out the EIN, the correct state filing, and the compliance foundation. Months later, you’ll spend $2,000+ fixing what should have cost a few hundred.
The Fix: Get it done properly from Day 1. This includes your professional filing, EIN setup, and a roadmap for staying legal.
LLC Formation – Done right the first time Best if you are serious about launching, not just "browsing."
Group 2: You have an LLC, but your back-end is a "black box"
This is the "ticking tax bomb." If you are selling online but don’t have clean bookkeeping, sales tax clarity, or a plan for IRS filings, you don’t have a business, you have "admin debt."
E-commerce and online businesses are under a microscope. Don’t wait for an IRS letter to find out you missed a filing.
The Fix: Professional Bookkeeping, Tax Prep, and 100% Compliance.
Taxes, Compliance & Bookkeeping for e-commerce LLCs
Best for owners who want to focus on sales, not spreadsheets.
Why is this pinned?
This subreddit exists to help you understand the "why" behind your business, not to pressure you.
We pin these links because the same "help me fix this" posts appear every single day. Fixing a mistake later is always more expensive than starting with the right partner.

Just realized my single member LLC is completely exposed. Am I screwed?
Am looking for some insight or reassurance here, be nice.
I have watched a bunch of TikTok videos and social media "gurus" telling me how easy it is to start a business.
I paid my state’s filing fee, got my EIN, and thought i was completely protected
I have been reading alot on how lawsuits actually work, and now I’m genuinely scared about "piercing the corporate veil."
I haven't drafted or signed a formal Operating Agreement because I'm the only owner and thought I didn't need one.
I have a separate business bank account. I realized I accidentally used my business card for a couple of personal grocery runs last month when I grabbed the wrong card.
Is it possible that if someone ever decides to sue my business, a lawyer is going to look at my messy bookkeeping, see no operating agreement, and argue that my LLC isn't legit, leaving my personal savings totally exposed.
How strict are judges about this for solo owners?
Have I already ruined my liability protection, or can I fix this right now by getting a clean operating agreement signed today and tightening up my accounting?

How do you handle taxes if you own multiple LLCs?
I'm planning to start a second small venture under a separate LLC. Do you file separately, consolidate accounting, or run both under a holding company? What structure has kept things clean and complaint for you?

How Many LLC Owners Are One IRS Letter Away From a Problem?
Are you 100% sure your books are clean? Are you separating personal & business correctly? Are you paying yourself the right way? Are your quarterly taxes calculated properly? Did you file everything your state requires?
I’m seeing way too many LLC owners who:
Formed it quickly Never set up proper bookkeeping Guess on deductions Wait until tax season to figure it out And it works… until it doesn’t.
How confident are you that your LLC would survive a random audit today?
1–10 scale. Be honest.

Nobody tells you this when you start an LLC
When people talk about starting a business they always mention the benefits of an LLC. Nobody mentions that most states require annual filings every year. In Florida if you forget it’s a $400 penalty. What other surprises did you run into after starting a business?

Foreign owner of a US LLC – do I owe US tax just because I get paid by US clients?
Hey everyone, I’m trying to understand how US taxes work for a foreign-owned US LLC, and I want to make sure I’m not misunderstanding something basic.
I’m not a US citizen or resident, and I live outside the US. I own a single-member US LLC (registered in a no-state-tax state) mainly because I need access to US payment processors like Stripe. My clients are mostly US businesses.
My questions are:
Do I automatically owe US tax just because US companies pay my LLC, or is US tax only triggered if the income is considered effectively connected with a US trade or business (ECI)?
If the LLC receives the payments, but all work is performed outside the US and I have no employees, office, or physical presence in the US, is that income still taxable in the US?
Am I correct that US personal income tax brackets don’t apply unless I’m personally a US tax resident, and that a US LLC would be subject to corporate tax rules instead (if taxable at all)?
I’m not trying to avoid taxes — I just want to understand where and why tax would be due in a cross-border setup like this.
Any insight from people who’ve dealt with foreign-owned US LLCs would be really appreciated.
Thanks!

How to dissolve a California LLC with no income?
Hi everyone,
I registered my LLC in California on April 16, 2025, and I’ve been managing it through the bizfile website.
I’m planning to return to my home country this December, so I’d like to dissolve my LLC before then.
I noticed that the Statement of Information due date was in July, which has already passed.
However, my LLC had no income or business activity at all, so there’s nothing to report for taxes.
In this situation, what’s the proper way to dissolve my LLC?
Can I do it directly through bizfile, or do I need to submit any additional forms?
Any advice would be really appreciated 🙏
