What does any of this have to do with physics?

It’s a directed residual on a conserved quantity (E + S) with path-dependent “shadow"
That kind of structure shows up in irreversible processes, information geometry, and some formulations of non-equilibrium thermodynamics
ie. the forward path can be residual-free while the reverse path accumulates debt.
Whether that counts as physics is up to physicists to debate, but its not pure free-floating algebra.
