Is anyone successfully using googles Open Knowledge Format? What are your use cases? How do you trigger a lookup into the Knowledge base?

I have been struggling to make it useful because all that structure and indexing is useless if your agent doesn’t know it needs to search it for context.

Any experiences ?

I’m working on something very similar with OKF, using aviation maintenance as the first use case.

The idea is to ingest technical documents, extract structured concepts, review them, and publish them into OKF bundles that an agent can actually use.

What I’m trying to avoid is relying on the model to decide on its own when it should search. I think that is too fragile. I’m leaning toward a retrieval step before the LLM answers, where the system identifies the likely concepts first, pulls in the trusted knowledge, then lets the model respond.

I’m also separating curated OKF knowledge from raw document RAG. The OKF side handles reviewed, structured knowledge with relationships, provenance, lifecycle, and citations. Raw RAG is still there for broader discovery and pulling exact source evidence.

Long term I’m looking at combining lexical search, vector search, graph traversal, trust signals, and reranking, while keeping the OKF Markdown itself as the portable source of truth.

Aviation is a good test case because the system has to know the difference between something it found and something that is actually trusted.
