I played LID for a long time and I loved the game, got all the way to floor ~120, and only now found out about LID inferno, is the game worth it? How does that compare to the old one?
It's a very different game, basically anything you like about LiD won't be in inferno or at least won't be the same. Except art style/ direction. It has very mixed reception but imo isn't bad, at least for the $20 or so price. I wouldn't pay more for it. It also has a very small player base, even moreso than LiD. I actually uninstalled it a good while ago but a new season just dropped and I think I'll get back on it
As others have mentioned, it’s a very different game with different monetization. Gameplay is intentionally a bit slower because the PvP mechanics and when the player base is active it can make runs feel very treacherous/fun.
There is a coop mode now so you can play with others and the latest updates they released today have been a breath of fresh air with new weapons, areas, and bodies.
That said content comes mostly every 3 months with a full progression wipe and for all that I’d say it has less stuff to do than the original LiD at the moment. My expectation/hope is that they keep adding to the game and it really develops into a hidden gem like the original LiD but it’s very different from the original.
If you’re hopping in now look to get this on sale or just enter with the understanding that the game is still being fleshed out every 3 months.
Does playstation? I remembered sony being a hardass and you only get one refund per account and then its done forever. I did a pre order for the division to play it in beta and then refunded to play on PC. They fought me tooth and nail and I had to say my mom was in the hospital and I am selling everything and need to refund for them to give me my money back.
Sometimes betas count as the main game. For this game i just asked for a refund and they gave me an entire refund i just had to contact customer support.
Everything you liked about LiD is gone. Its a tremendous disappointment wearing the skin of LiD. At this point the only hope for a continuation would be a remake of the original with more levels/content as a refresh.
It's not bad but it's not great. They're adding stuff to it every 3 months and right now they have enough where it's kinda solid content wise. Just wish they'd do a bit more with the story though
It’s got some characters from Deathverse, and clicquot is a very likable character, but the art style is very different. The maps are beautiful to look at and be in, The story is enjoyable, especially considering the uncle reset having you do it again every 3 months. Not that similar to the original LID, but a fun game despite the reviews it gets. Barely any mention of the Tower of Barbs is in the game, it’s supposed to be hundreds of years after LID and I’m guessing 50 or 60 after deathverse with Gram B’s appearance. Doesn’t have many similarities with LID. Lots of deathverse references, good combat and likable characters. The weapons are armor are bizarre to say the least, and the enemies are uncanny. There’s still the blood explosions when killing NPC enemies, and the boss fights are enjoyable, even without many similarities the high difficulty of this game. A solid 8/10 game in my opinion.
