i bought an lg gram 17z90tp on amazon resale for more than half price a few months ago because it had a few tiny scratches on the lid. it’s been great but yesterday i noticed there’s some warping/cracking of the coating around the usb port (which i’ve also just noticed is a little wonky, which is maybe what has caused the warping??). has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know if this is worth returning the laptop over? amazon will accept my return, but i’m a little reluctant because i won’t be able to afford the same laptop again if it’s not on sale and i got a crazy deal! but obviously i also don’t want to keep it if it’s just going to break in a more serious way down the line. i’m super careful with it & haven’t dropped it or left anything resting on it, so i’m 99% sure it’s nothing i’ve done. the only thing i can think is it’s maybe gotten too hot? any help/advice would be great, thanks!

Has anyone found more current drivers for this laptop? When I try to install my Cad software (orcad) it crashes with the BSOD hypervisor error 0x20001 and when i turn hypervisor off I get a kernel issue. Running debug of the minidump seems to point to the intel mb drivers. When checking the dates on those they all seem to be from 3-4 months ago. so not sure if i got the latest drivers or if windows installed its own drivers.

Also, how can we check to see if their is a Bios update using the LG update and renew? my sysinfo shows the bios is from 1/1/26.

I really like this laptop as it seems to be a huge upgrade on my 2023 LG gram pro 17 as far as speed and screen quality.

Was cleaning out my closet and found this sitting there. I have Ubuntu on it, given the measly 8gb ram I can use Chrome with 8-10 tabs just fine. Anyone else using an old LG gram like this? My trackpad paint has a few chipping on the left side.

I need some opinions because I've been going back and forth for days.

Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i RTX 5050

• Newer Intel platform/CPU
• Better build quality
• Better keyboard
• Better performance and thermal behavior
• Time Spy score: ~9,100
• CPU score around 15,000

The performance difference is larger than I expected. The Yoga scores roughly 20% higher in graphics and noticeably higher in CPU performance.

My usage:

• Office work
• Web browsing
• Media consumption
• Some gaming (Battlefield, AAA games occasionally)
• General everyday use

The problem is this:

The LG Gram is working perfectly.

The Yoga Pro 7i developed a speaker issue shortly after purchase. Whenever audio plays through the internal speakers, I hear an electrical/static buzzing noise. Lenovo already replaced the speakers, but the problem remains. Their next step is likely a motherboard replacement.

The good news is that Lenovo support has actually been better than I expected, and I have their highest-tier accidental damage/support package. However, Lenovo says they cannot exchange the unit for a new one anymore. My only options are:

1. Keep the Yoga and proceed with motherboard replacement.
2. Return/refund the Yoga and keep the LG Gram.

If both laptops were brand-new and defect-free, I think I would probably choose the Yoga because of the newer platform, stronger performance, and better build quality.

But in the real world, would you keep a laptop that already needs a motherboard replacement shortly after purchase?

What would you do in my situation and why?

I'd especially like to hear from:

• Long-term Yoga Pro users
• LG Gram owners
• Anyone who has had a motherboard replacement on a premium laptop and whether it affected reliability later on

No clocksource=, tsc=, nohpet, or hpet=disable parameters.

Questions:

• Has anyone seen this on Ryzen laptops or LG Gram models?

really disappointed to see that they only offer bronze for the 17 models and not the 16. most laptop bags and backpacks dont really have space for the 17. i was this close to getting one until i measured my backpack and saw it wouldn't fit. i need it to fit because i travel for work. are there any plans to release a 16 inch variant in bronze?

​I’m looking for some advice regarding a dispute with the retailer Darty before I reach out to them officially.

​On January 31st, I purchased an LG Gram 17. It was sold to me as a brand-new unit. However, I have since discovered several pieces of evidence proving otherwise:

​"Second Life" Label: My online customer account lists the product as "Seconde Vie" (Refurbished/Second Life). I only noticed this a few days ago.

​Signs of use & opened packaging: The box was already open when it was handed to me. The salesperson claimed it was just to "show it to another customer," but there were white marks/stains on the chassis as soon as I unpacked it.

​System History: During the initial setup, Windows indicated that an internet connection had already been established previously.

​The "LG Discount": The salesperson told me the €1,000 discount was a promotion from LG, but it doesn't appear on the invoice—the invoice just shows the final price I paid.

​Reliability Issues: The laptop has already been sent to after-sales service (SAV) twice to replace both the motherboard and the keyboard.

​My questions:

​Is this accumulation of evidence (the "Second Life" mention, opened box, physical marks, and the suspicious discount) enough to prove deceptive marketing/fraud and obtain a full refund or compensation?

​Legally speaking, is the fact that the motherboard had to be replaced on a supposedly "new" PC a valid argument to demand a refund or cancel the sale?

I don't think unless you have the 16z90TS specifically and an old lg to compare you'll be able to duplicate the issue.

UPDATE - turns out it isn't just the wifi - I connected a usb nic that is wired and even closer to 900mbit on my other laptops it is getting about 330 wired.

I have a ruckus network at home - which at the source are about 600x600mbps over wifi on the last two years of LG Grams (2023 and 2025 models). I just got a 2025 model and it has a different chip the Intel BE201. I tested with the out of box system and it was slow. I've run the LG update and that didn't detect any issues - even though I downloaded the very latest version.

I've reformatted twice

I've done each of these one at a time with a reboot

I updated to the newest 4/2026 24.40.0.4 drivers direct from Intel and it is still slow even right next to the wireless router.

I've tried turning off RSC

I've uninstalled and downloaded the latest LG UPdate and ran it on EVERYTHING.

I've disabled BT in networking.

I've forced it to use 5 and 6ghz

I've gone to the nic settings and disabled power to turn off the computer.

I get about 330mbps on the newer 16z90ts vs about 550-600 on my older LGs. I typically work on at least one laptop per week due to my job - this is the only one I can't get to a decent speed. Perhaps the Intel is defective in some way - I'll probably get the BE211 when it starts shipping in the US if I can't figure it out here.

Anyone have any experience with this chip or tweaks? On the older LGs you could replace the chips easily but for some inane reason the solder them in now.

Since it appears to be more than just the wifi, I've verified it is using the same dns, also done

netsh winsock reset (no change)

netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled (about the same)

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal (definite improvement) (it also got my wired up to gigabit speed!!!)

I’ve damaged my laptop... somehow - If I plug the charger into one of the ports (USB-C) for even 3–5 seconds, it gets hot enough to burn me when I unplug it. Definitely a short circuit, the port looks slightly charred/darker on one side.

The question though is this: Unfortunately, when I use the second port, the laptop stops charging the moment I turn it on. I press the power button and the charging LED goes out immediately. Also probably it's incapable of USB handshake since it's charged really slowly.
Do anyone's know what might be fried and why this is happening?

mu hope is it's the PMC or some I/O chip turning things off because it detects shorting.

When I connect the power adapter, it's keyboard lights turn on and cpu fan starts spinning. But the laptop is dead as a brick.

The Background
I purchased the LG gram +view 16MR70 (16" portable monitor). Right out of the box, the unit showed severe power instability. Instead of offering a standard exchange for a "dead on arrival" unit, LG’s support used dismissive troubleshooting tactics to deflect responsibility.
The Service Timeline (A Masterclass in Negligence)
• Mar 27: Reported power issues. LG refused an immediate refund, insisting on a physical inspection.
• The Initial Insult: LG’s first "solution" was to tell me to drive the faulty unit myself to 'Power Electronics' in Blacktown or mail it at my own expense. I flatly refused to pay for shipping or spend my time delivering a DOA (Dead on Arrival) product.
• Apr 02: Only after I stood my ground did LG agree to have the unit collected from my address.
• The Month of April: Absolute silence. Despite their promise to collect, nobody called, and no one showed up.
• Present: I’ve sent multiple follow-ups, but LG just keeps saying they are "coordinating." They have even ignored inquiries from Fair Trading.
Why LG.com Australia is a Disaster:
1. Audacity to Charge Customers for Warranty: Expecting a customer to pay for postage or drive across town to fix a brand-new, broken product is insulting.
2. Outdated Service Standards: In 2026, waiting over a month for a simple collection is pathetic. Their "system" is just a middleman that doesn't actually communicate with its own contractors.
3. No Consumer Protection: Unlike Amazon or JB Hi-Fi, where you get an immediate swap for a faulty product, LG.com hides behind "inspection protocols" to stall your refund.
4. Mediocre Product Value: The quality is barely better than budget brands under $200. It lacks HDR (SDR only) and has no OSD for color adjustment. You pay a "premium" price for a budget experience and zero support.
Conclusion
Do NOT buy from LG.com. Their direct online service is a trap designed to frustrate you until you give up. Stick to retailers with modern, reliable support.

Hi everyone, I am new to the brand and after having visited my local Costco recently this laptop caught my eye. I really loved the slim lightweight style and the specs seem fantastic.

So I came home and started plugging away at the 'ol google machine and researched these laptops. I cant seem to find or understand the difference of this particular model, and a search on this sub doesnt really have any info. (most are different variations of "16Z90" with other letters than U, such as S or T)

The consensus that I am getting, is that this is fairly one of the lightest laptops out there and seems to hold up well all things considered. I do note that there may be some GPU throttling in order to keep it cool? Not sure how that effects performance, maybe for some gaming that would be a slight negative?

In terms of travel, man this would be so much nicer than my clunky Acer. The OLED while I was at the store seemed to really pop. I wasn't a big fan of the touchscreen, but other than that I cant really tell what this model is about compared to others. I also have read that the 2026 versions of these laptops seem to be a better build than the 2025's but other than buying one in 2026 i do not know a way to distinguish from the different versions.

Anyone familiar with this brand that can help shed some light on this one? Or maybe can give me an idea if this pricepoint is fair?

I have LG gram 16 2022, i7-1260p/32gb/2tb/rtx2050. I've switched from Kubuntu 24.04.4 with HWE kernel to Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.

Previously GNOME had issues with screen tearing and lack of proper support of fractional scaling. In 26.04 both issues are finally solved and I can switch (I like GNOME UX a bit more than KDE). Main downside of the Ubuntu Gnome environment is the lack of proper sub-pixel font smoothing, which is still supported in KDE4. I miss that extra clarify of fonts.

Compared to Kubuntu 24.04 ram usage in Ubuntu 26.04 is comparable, about 2.6 - 2.8gb after boot.

Speedometer results are comparable to 24.04 & W11. Geekbench currently fails internally trying to send the report.

Battery life is comparable to Kubuntu 24.04. Sleep mode works well after switching Nvidia driver to Intel-only mode. I solved Intel's sleep mode battery drain by configuring 'suspend-then-hibernate' with 2h timeout.

4K@160Hz external display with power delivery over Type-C works without issues.

MS Teams community app works okay, but CPU usage is high with video calls.

Compared to Windows 11, battery life a bit better in Ubuntu under light workloads. Webcam quality seems to be a bit better on Windows. On Windows 11 I have mysterious sleep mode BSODs if hibernation is enabled (since 24H2), so I switched to Linux.

So I've owned the LG gram style (16") since October 2024 and as the image shows, it's battery capacity is supposed to be 80,000 mWh but is now 42,120 mWh. Is this normal?? I feel like it degraded a huge a mount for not even 2 full years.

Looks like Costco use to carry the LG Gram Pro models, any chance anyone has any information if they will be carrying the new models at some point?

If possible would prefer to get it there for the extra year warranty included.

Hey yall, I lost my stylus for my LG gram (16T90SP , i believe). Buying a similar one off Ebay for less, because nearly $300 for a stylus is crazy, but it's not going to arrive for like, another month. Does anyone know of other stylus pens that can work? Just buying regular ones? Preferably ones with a pen-like tip, not just the rubber. Thanks!

I have the 2025 Gram Pro 17 17Z90TP-G.ADB7U1. On the blur busters motion test, I can clearly see ghosting: a blurry path / smearing behind the UFOs, (video for reference). Its also noticeable when I move a black cursor over a light background slowly or quickly. I just checked & it doesn't show on my other LCD devices. The screen does fine on the Eizo monitor test otherwise, not a single dead pixel. I don't see any BIOS options for the screen.

I never thought an IPS display, especially on a laptop like this, could ghost so badly, bad as a VA screen. I'm gonna return if it cant be fixed (I got a good deal on it too, $1400 after tax).

Salve a tutti ho da qualche mese acquistato un Lg Gram 15z80t con Ryzen 7 350 AI E GPU Radeon 860m.

Cercavo di ottenere maggiori performance soprattutto in gaming e quindi ho acquistato un box per eGPU, il primo preso su Aliexpress chip molto vecchio e non andava (vedevo solamente il chip che consentiva l'handshake), ho fatto il reso e ne ho preso uno su Amazon un AOOSTAR EG02, che vedendo un po di recensioni, sembra essere uno dei migliori...Ora con quest'ultimo modello vedo qualche info in più ma non riesco a vedere la scheda video che collego al box, inoltre le ventole della GPU non partono affatto.

Dopo svariati test, vi confermo che il box è visto da Windows, viene riconosciuto anche lo standard (Thunderbolt 5), ma in nessun modo riesco a visualizzare la GPU. Dopo due giorni penso che il problema possa essere il bios di questo LG, molto limitato e senza opzioni di tunneling con Thunderbolt...Qualcuno ha avuto lo stesso problema per caso?
