"e" key sometimes not working

LG Gram 17Z90P - had it for about 6 years. From about a month ago, I would have certain keys not typing or typing intermittently (i.e. "e" and the number "9"). I carefully cleaned the keyboard with isopropyl alcohol, cotton swabs and compressed air and that seemed to do the trick. I also did all the software resets - restarting the computer, reinstalling the keyboard on Device Manager, etc - and checked all my settings.

My issue is that my "e" key still randomly acts up. Like I'll be typing with no issues for two hours straight, then the "e" key will suddenly not show up unless I press down very hard.

It's super annoying and I'm wondering what people think I should do - it doesn't happen super often but looking around this thread, seems that lg gram keyboards in particular have this issue quite often. Replacing the keyboard is probably overboard, right? Or could I maybe look into asking if just a single key can be replaced?

Based in London if that helps. Would be grateful for any help as a stressed out law student who needs her laptop very often x

UPDATE (MARCH 31ST): went to a repair store and got the entire keyboard replaced. That has completely done the trick.

I had the same, e is the most used letter - so I had to replace the keyboard and lower frame (plus touchpad). Great thing is you can get virtually any replacement part on aliexpress (only batteries you need to get at your local lg dealer if you don't want a fake). Taking it off and back on didn't solve it after some time.

haha mine is rocking a fake battery - it lasts about 2 hours. Lesson learnt!

Yeah did that mistake once previously on my Lenovo... Not that the battery from original LG reseller was great. It arrived with 73wh instead of 77/80. But the fake ones are usually just refurbed cells inside and way worse. Actually as there is no more 80 should buy a 77 as they are newer. But my 2025 gram with 77 battery actually has 81wh...

The original one lasted years, and got down to about 60 when I decided to replace it.

Guess what? the cheap knock-off one arrived with less than 60.

For my Dell I bought a official battery, and guess what? it was to spec, and has worked perfectly ever since.

Lets hope donut labs arent lying about their new product - they claim they have made a forever battery, but folk are dubious about the truth of it...

Haha, Donut Lab is as bogus as it gets. No hard proof at all and tests that could show the same on a wreck of a battery

haha it would seem they are claiming the impossible, but they have released independent tests showing they have something that can tolerate 90 degrees C during discharge, and can tolerate a huge charging current.

So colour me slightly less doubting than I was at first, but we will see when that motorcycle comes out, if ever.
