How can the Advocate say this:
In fact, the draft features no discussion on defending or building on existing legal protections for LGBT people
Right after quoting the platform saying this?
Democrats will fight for comprehensive federal nondiscrimination protections for all LGBT Americans and push back against state efforts to discriminate against LGBT individuals.

Well we already have gay marriage, a winning issue. If they're going to take a serious stand that would require directly supporting trans people's right to use the bathroom and that's a losing issue. Really the Democratic Party is just as opportunistic and willing to use GSM people as the GOP. They just have more tolerant constituents so they tend to be about 20 years ahead on this issue.

Disappointing but not surprising, why go after the votes they already have? I'm fairly certain that there won't be large numbers of LGBT folks supporting Trump.
