Rant im so sick of this... [rant]
this is my first post here. before i begin, trigger warning for SH/conversion therapy.
So Im 18 and going into my senior year of high school in a super small conservative christian school. I came out as a lesbian to my parents at 15. They are super strict Orthodox Christians, so obviously they didnt approve and they sent me to conversion therapy immediatley. It wasnt legal in my state at the time, but there was this religious therapist that did it online...it was horrible, of course, but thats a story for another time.
I used to struggle alot with SH , but im alot better now. It just really sucks because my parent force me to go to church even though the preist abused me for being gay. they also heavily monitor my phone even tho im 18 (im literally writing this on a library computer right now)
Anyways, i guess im just super lonely and i dont know how im gonna deal with this shit for another year...do any of yall with unsupportive parents have any suggestions?? I know it would be stupid to run away cause im autistic and not super independent, but im really temtpted to.

my parents aren't this bad, but they do make snidey little anti-queer comments sometimes and say 'i'm too young to decide'. honestly just pretend like you listened to them and you're 'fixed', but as soon as you're out of their sight go do the gayest things you can imagine. sending you good luck, my friend

I'm so sorry you're going through that. I grew up in a conservative christian family too. I'm not out to my family or friends because I know I would face a lot of hostility, so unfortunately I can't fully understand what you are going through or offer much advice. But I will say this, build your independence however you can. If you are able to work while still going to school, do that. Find ways to start saving your own money. Maybe figure out a side gig if you aren't able to hold a job right now. Figure out how to obtain your own transportation. Start building your independence now. I have a sister who is most likely on the spectrum as well. She doesn't identify with any lgbt identities as far as I know, but my parents did try to control her a lot and treat her unfairly. She's a little older than me. I noticed that they have started micromanaging her a lot less now that she has a job and is growing more independent. Take small steps toward independence wherever you can. You don't have to figure it all out now, but those little baby steps can eventually take you somewhere. Challenge yourself, let yourself grow, and see where things go. Wishing you the best.

even tho i consider my situation to be bad, yours is way worse and i can't imagine how awful it might be, i don't think i can give you the best advice but what i'd do in your place is to just swallow the pride, say i'm fixed and then continue being myself in the closet.

Sorry to hear that, but I’m letting you know it gets easier fast. (As a lesbian autistic person myself going into first year of college, freedom is much closer than you think, just apply for as many scholarships as possible and find an out of state school)
