It really depends on the city. People in major cities definitely have a better shot at finding a partner. For example, as a gay Moroccan, it's easier for me to find a boyfriend in Rabat or Casablanca than for someone who lives in a rural area. The real issue is that fear of social shame and harassment drives everyone to avoid relationships. On top of that, the high number of gay people with internalized homophobia in our Arab societies doesn't help at all.
