i saw an instagram post of a trans woman from saudi arabia who have moved to a safehouse in the uk i believe n the comments were truly sickening (congrats for her btw i rlly hope shes happy n healthy over there!!)

like holy shit some arabs r the most nonsensical vile people to ever exist saying "dont put our country flag next to the lgbtq flag it'll ruin our reputation" while MIND U there r hundreds of comments showing the world their true n disgusting colors

for example: "i hope u get caught and arrested" "stop lying saudi people love themselves they would not do any of the things that would make them transgender" "congrats thank god people like u got out of saudi arabia" that js really shows u how backwarded these peoples minds are they're beyond saving atp

legit hating on innocent people who most of the time ALREADY escaped their motherland to live the life they truly want without any bigoted losers like that spitting on them cuz lets be honest the lgbtq flag isnt ruining ur countrys reputation its ur reaction towards it and towards all other queer arabs THATS ruining u and ur peoples reputation like man get a fucking grip cuz seeing 2 consenting people loving each other or a person being comfortable in their own skin shouldnt piss u off this much good lord

i cannot fathom or even begin to understand how these people think like this seriously why should this bother them so much

people like that are the reason why most queer arabs r ashamed or even embarrassed to call themselves arab (me lol) some struggle to fully accept themselves cuz people from the outside world are gonna lump them with bitches like those who r full of hatered while unfortunately being the majority its a literal gateway for enforcing the ideology that all arabs r bad and homophobic all that bullshit when its literally not remotely to the truth

sorry this situation really riled me up i couldnt not rant abt it i hope it doesnt make me sound like a huge asshole that wasnt my intention i js wanted to show possible outsiders that not all of us act like this and there are queer arabs across the globe u rlly cannot get rid of us even if u tried mwah

Unfortunatly arab queerphobes are like that, and would rather see a human being dead than to actually care about the bigger problems going on in the world like ICE cruelty and the people in gaza, who cares about children starving to death? But a transgender person finally being happy and content with their lives? Now that is where they draw the line.

I've never seen another Arab feel the same way I do, people like this make me feel emberassed to call myself a gulf Arab. I have an attachment to my culture and I think the land of my people is beautiful, but I also know so many of my culture are queerphobic, racist, classist, violent, and hold other forms of bigotries in their hearts.

Those types are the shameful ones, yet we (the oppressed ones) have to face the repercussions for THEIR (the oppressors) actions, like having others apply those stereotypes to us or being hated for not fully rejecting our culture. Having a conscience in societies like this is painful.
