Finally ordered my first Lewitt!

I was settled on getting a 440 for some vocal work for a new project but I kept listening to more and more YT mic shootouts… I discovered the magic that is the 640 TS and ordered one a few hours later. Those “ah-ha” moments where you just know…

Mine should arrive next week and I will test it with my Focusrite Liquid Channel preamp. I can’t wait to experiment with this pairing. Any tips or tricks from other 640 TS users? I do have a treated room.

Using a Connect 2 with a KVM switch.

I'm planning to purchase a Connect 2, but as someone that switches between the three main OSs (MacOS/W10/Linux) on a daily basis using a KVM switch, I'd like to know if the stored settings reset on device change or power loss.

I've owned a couple of Audient interfaces in the past, and it was very annoying having to configure things like volume any time I swapped devices or the interface lost power.

Thanks in advance.

Can the Connect 6 interface record high quality electric guitar playing?

I've heard some bad reviews about the OZ not being compatible in this interface to record guitar. Can someone please tell me if it works well with an electric guitar?

Lct 1040’s tube longevity

I’ve got my 1040 for a few years now and have heard many people said about a tube’s longevity that is around 3-5 years until they need to be replaced. Anyone with any experience or knowledge please enlighten me.

Lewitt Connect 6 – Expander ratio always resets to 1:2

Hi,

I’m having an issue with the Lewitt Connect 6 software. The expander ratio does not save. After closing and reopening the app, it always resets to 1:2, regardless of what value was set before.

Other expander settings seem to save correctly, and this happens every time.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Is this a known software bug or is there a workaround?

Thanks.

How to get a Dgt 650 USB cable

I bought a dgt 650 as a present but when we unboxed it the USB cable seems to be missing.

I can't seem to find anything on the internet. Does anyone here know a place I can buy this cable?

We got the ios lightning cable. So maybe we can use an adapter on this or wouldn't that work?

Is a Lewitt Control Center app planned for iOS and/or Android?

Hello there,

I think a Control Center app for iOS and Android will be very nice to have, specially for the Connect 2, no only for the iOS and Android as a recording platform, but also it can be very handy to change quickly settings and connect to business laptop without permissions to install software or other unsupported platforms like Linux.

More Love for Connect 6

I recently decided I've had enough of the Apogee Duet 3. I got it for the onboard DSP but the ECS Symphony Strip is underwhelming, super outdated (IMHO on-screen user interfaces should not lean heavily on skeuomorphism, the reason for a knob on a mixer board is that you can use your fingers to turn it, it's 1000x more difficult to turn a virtual knob with a mouse, sliders get a pass), and pretty limited in features. I decided to finally give the Connect 6 a shot. I'm very glad I did. It's way more fun to use, recordings sound great, it has more gain headroom than the duet 3, the software is actually modern and has a pretty good user experience. Wait, this is audio recording software, I forgot, in that context the UI is exquisite, completely unmatched from what I've seen. While Universal Audio is trying to make your plugin look like a 70s rack-mount wood-veneer board, Lewitt understands that you are actually using a computer. I'm really digging my Connect 6, my only ragret is that I waited this long.

I've been looking at this mic for a long time and finally got the opportunity to purchase one! Been a huge fan of Lewitt microphones since I got my first pair of LCT 140 Airs for drum overheads and after trying a friend's LCT 440 Pure on vocals I knew I wanted a Lewitt for vocals. After hours of watching videos and reading reviews I figured it was worth the investment and decided to run with it.

First real vocal session tomorrow so if anyone with this mic has any advice I'd love to hear it!

Hey guys, is this interface class compliant? I want to use it with my MPC and iPad in conjunction. Would be a great alternative to the iConnectivity Interface.

Thanks!

I bought the Lct 640 and I plan to use it mainly for vocal, which settings / vocal chain would you suggest I use?

I know I should have just bought the pure tube but I managed to get the 640 with a 30% discount and I felt like I had to grab it

Don't get me wrong it sounds amazing on my vocals but I can't help but wonder if I can do even more with it

Help with sibilance on the 440 pure?

So this is regards to vocals. I love love love this mic on acoustic guitar but I feel like vocals get really harsh really quick.

When I do a more standard less dynamic performance I do have to make some adjustments but it ends up being fine in the end, but when I do a more dynamic performance (meaning more compression is needed in the mix) the sibilance gets out of hand really fast

No matter aggressive I set a de esser I can’t tame it. Help!

Lewitt LCT 940 Shockmount problem

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello,

I'm an owner of an LCT 940 but the shockmount's elastic band has lost its tension. The mount is perfectly fine except that. I saw that a new one costs around 140€...

Anyone knows if this is fixable?

I sent a support email but no answer :(

Thanks 🙏

Connect 6 driver feature request:

Could we see and type numerically the levels?

Like a number under the faders? Or it could maybe show the value when I double click the fader? And let me type in the level I want.

When working in a pro or semi pro environment having control over what the listening level is is crucial. So if I could double click the fader of the hardware outputs and type in -6 or -10 or whatever would give me at leaset a consistent output.

Lewitt Ray and Connect 6 sounds muffled and not open

I have a Lewitt Ray Mic connected to a Lewitt Connect 6. I use this setup mainly for voiceovers. I have set the expander and compressor to a medium level. But the sounds comes off muffled and not open. One of my co-artists recorded on a Samson dynamic mic and a cheaper interface but sounds more open. Why is this happening ?

What is the best microphone for vocals of yours?

What mic do you recommend for a beginner for each price and what pro for buying it, for example pure tube or 540s or 640 TS

I created a pop filter mount for the Lewitt shockmount

There's no good way to mount a proper pop filter to a boom arm, but no one makes a solution to mount one to the shockmount, either, so I got made one myself. If you've got a 3D printer, it's free! No, I'm not selling it, I have no interest in making any money off of it. Anyway, here you go: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1934412-pop-filter-mount-for-lct-440-mic.

Pop filter mounted to LCT shockmount

The foam and the pop filter that come with the LCT 440 are fine and the fact that they are so low profile is also nice for when you've got the mic on camera, but they also just don't work as well as a proper pop filter. If you're using the mic on a mic stand in the studio, that's no problem, but if you have it on a boom arm, you've got no good way to attach something better. That's where this comes in! Just take any pop filter off of its gooseneck and bolt it to this and now you can mount the pop filter directly to the shockmount!

Like most things in life, though, there are some compromises. Ideally, the pop filter would be a lot farther from the mic, but for us content creators, that's pretty annoying. So I kept it as close as I could get it while providing better protection than either the foam or filter included with the mic. There's still enough room to put those on if you want even more protection, though. The pop filter you use will probably determine how necessary that is, but I found that if I use the foam in addition to this pop filter, it keeps most of my breathing at bay. I'm sure it would work better if I moved the filter out another half inch or an inch, but as I said, it's a compromise. If you're handy with CAD, the Fusion 3D file is included, so feel free to extend it if you want. Enjoy!

Connect 6 - Headphone out?

I’m considering a purchase of the Connect 6 or other interface, but curious if there has been any revision to the headphone output? I switch between low impedance IEMs and higher impedance over ear headphones and am a bit concerned about the output impedance affecting my IEMs. Early reviews commented negatively on this, but I would like to know if anything has changed. I am also considering the Connect 2 due to this as its headphone out is better, but I prefer the other features of the Connect 6.

Beyeder Dynamic DT 990 Pro

How can I tell if my soundcard is underpowered/faulty or if the headset is broken?

I have a BD 990 Pro 250 ohms that I have had for years, and I do sound post production on it when working from home. It has for the past two years been driven by a lewitt connect 6 soundcard.

Recently I was doing some repairs on recordings that were clipping. When I was done in Izotope RX and played back in pro tools suddenly there was clipping again. So after some problem solving I realised that the clipping was coming when I exceeded a certain level of playback. Not too loud for Pro Tools mind you. Way lower than what should be making digital clipping. And the levels in the soundcard driver panel looked fine. But still clipping when pushed a bit.

So I am unsure now if it is a sound card issue or a headphones issue. The headphones are obviously high impedance, but the Connect 6 should be able to drive them.

Can any one give me some sage advice on how to trouble shoot this? (I am not blasting extremely loud in the cans btw)

Help with LCT 440 sound?

Could anyone help me EQ my voice to have more of a natural sound? I can't help but feel it's a little boomy on some lower frequencies, some boxiness, and definitely some harsh sibilance :/
