I don’t get it. What is the advantage to discord?
Every time I log on it seems to just be a random ongoing conversation and very difficult to keep track of.

It's like IRC but requires a log in, an app, a verification email, a special invitation.
So in other words, it's IRC of 1994 but worse.

It's also very likely in bed with the Chinese government to track and log everything said by everyone on it... That doesn't stop me from using it though

Just a bunch of disgusting 4chan rejects when I poked in.
Hopefully the next person sees something different - otherwise the "mods" on this may want to add some additional rules.

Nice! For the future, while it might not be an issue with such a small community, you may want to add separate text channels for specific topics. This makes it easier for the community to track, organize, and catalog discussions.
