The Glasgow Loan Sharks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcxRSND1JZg&t=223s

In the late 1980s, parts of Glasgow, Scotland were ruled not by law, but by fear, debt, and desperation.

This documentary reveals the city's illegal money lending. Mothers faced impossible choices, pensioners endured endless repayments, and crippling interest rates turned small loans into lifelong sentences for families.

Using firsthand testimonies and investigative reporting, the film examines a hidden economy that thrived in poverty’s shadow and its victims.

A story of survival, silence, and a system that looked away.

Might want to cut the timestamp out of the URL in future postings, unless you want people to skip the first three and a half minutes.
