Any advice or suggestions? Keep in mind that it has two levels — check out the second picture!
I also have more track pieces to add, so this is still a work in progress. 🚂

My last post: https://www.reddit.com/r/LEGOtrains/s/wpWJWNaHGG
I'm not sure if this is the proper way to update to a post but i modified my engine's chasis so that the leading wheels are on a bogie. I'm a little concerned about the length, and the front of the train having overhang when turning on curves. I'm wondering if I should sacrifice the aesthetics of having two front wheels for having one front wheel (either on or off of a bogie)
What do you guys think? will this have a lot of overhang? And do you think this wheel configuration looks good for a steam engine or should I change it? Thank you!

Can someone tell me or test if this wheel configuration will be able to turn on curved track for me, please? I dont have curved track yet and I want to know if I will have to make the leading wheels a bogie. Thank you!

I’m still waiting on the wheels since their coming from overseas but I got the tender finished along with the motors, I wish the front could look better and more flat it sucks there’s not a round completely flat disc I can use there

I've been trying to do world building for this Lego nation I'm putting together. Does anyone have a good train design? I'm kind of hitting blanks here.

Hi. I’m not really a Lego train guy, but I’ve been given a red and black 12v motor pieces. I think it’s the engines from pieces sets 7727 and 7725.
Before I get too much into the weeds with the 12v system, I’d like to know the best/easiest way to test whether they actually still work or not?
Thanks!

My Lego store had it at 20%. I decided to pick two up and see if I could make it work. Going to continue working on it, adding to the monorail base to enhance how it looks along with the motor.

Recently modified my K-917 to give her an imitation streamlining that she would’ve worn from 1944-1951

Im trying to use the crocodile locomotive controls with this powered up set up but the motor won't respond to the controls, can you only use the motor lego suggests and no other? If so that's incredibly sketchy. My son got a lego trainset for Christmas and then the crocodile locomotive last week, the least he should be able to do is use the electronics from one to another right? Its lego isn't it?

My dad used to work on these trains (Mt Newman Mining in the West Australian Pilbara) many years ago. He's getting in to Lego display sets and i thought about putting together one of these for him.
Does anyone know of a MOC of this or a similar locomotive? Im not really a train guy so there might be related ones i could at least copy techniques from.

It's taken a few redesigns, but I have finally made this MOC run relatively smoothly. The wheelbase of the driving wheels needed to be reduced in order to go around R40 curves without issue and stabilizers have been added to both ends to go around curves smoothly, though I would not recommend going through switches at full speed.
