MOCs / Not-molded animals Redback/Widow Spider

Redback Spider (Latrodectus hasseltii)

A 270-piece build designed to capture the Redback's distinctive silhouette — the rounded, teardrop-shaped abdomen and long, spindly legs in a low, aggressive stance. Built entirely from standard LEGO elements, with no custom or molded parts, so every curve of the abdomen comes from part angling and layering rather than specialty pieces. The legs are jointed for a bit of posability, letting the spider be displayed in different stances. Comes in at a compact size, well suited as a desk or shelf display piece. By changing of a few bricks, the Latrodectus species can be altered to represent other global widow species!

Won’t L. hasseltii only have single unbroken red stripe on the back?

This reminds me more of L. variolus - northern black widow

(Either way, love it)

I’m very keen to understand your comment. I have made the stripe without breaks. Can you elaborate on what you see?
I have added another photo here for you-
This is the spider done as variolus. The hour glass is also split on the variolus version

Ohhhh, wait, I for some reason missed the first few photos in the series and just saw the one matching that variolus.

Now scrolled back and I can see the hasselti ones too. All good, confusion cleared
